Their HPs/health slowly begin to decrease until you hand them the drink that you make from a No Rent bag of ingredients.

Each wave brings mobs slightly faster until you complete 7-8 waves of 10 customers. The faster you complete their orders the more exp and plat (tips) you earn. If at any time a dwarf's health gets to 0 he sobers up and leaves the bar, effectively ending the mission.
That sounds almost like the old arcade game Tapper.

Keeping an NPC drunk for a mission sounds like an excellent idea... he sobers up means he remembers that he's meant to be somewhere else and so you fail. Keeping up with dwarves requirements for drink might be tough though.... elves would be easier... and trolls and ogres would just be funny.

I'd hate to be on that mission and they get to the point they gotta tell you "I lubs ju man!" and have to physically prove it with hugs or licking your face or what ever they do to show they like you...or like your taste...get em too drunk to consider you a bar snack might be in order.

BTW working on Iksar beverages- I've promised Straha over at WTF I'd make a drink with him in mind, if not named after him. (He likes Rootbeer btw of all things- ).

Ideas for iksar based beverages are welcome here too as are any others. I won't promise I'll incorporate them into the next set of diaries on brewing, but if they're good I will and will credit the character appropriately in the story.

The rest will be upto Ngreth and his bosses.

I think Dark Elfs were left out of my drink lists too on my rounds of Norrath.

Gonna do some dragon drinks too.

Fetid Wine: Bottle, Fetid Bass xxlb, Grapes, Water Flask - yield goes up as as weight of the fish does

Fetid Ale: Fetid Bass xxlb, Barley, Cask, Malt, Yeast - again with the yield

These would also work for Firiona Vie

                  1) I'm thinking Iksar are actually wine snobs to rival elves. so the specialty wines I invented have high import value. This means that I'll have to make an iksar favored wine to their refined tastes.

                  2) Straha likes Rootbeer- which just happens to be non-alchoholic, but is frothy-foamy and thick like a heavy porter beer. Mayhap combining another alcoholic thick brew with rootbeer might make a lightly alcoholic brew that iksars would like.

                  3) They like their bug crunchies and stuff. I'm thinking fermented bug brews of several types- then a combined brew using all of the bug brews (call it Mug of the Swarm) that's distilled into a nearly clear pinkish liquid with purple swirls through out it.

                  4) brew based on their enemy's blood. Kylong's or them dragon like lizrd birds that tried to take over their realm with a certain undead dragon...

                  5) brew based on dragon eggs for holidays. Not an egg nog, but something distilled in the dragon egg shell along with the egg too...solids make a mushy meal mixed with crunchies and baked, the liquid is corked in the dragon egg. This is a dificult brew to make because you can get a hungover hatchling or a brew for Iksar heros with a meal on the side.

                  6) for Straha his brew will be a true Storm Ale-
Stormguard Rootbeer X2 + Liquid Mana X2 + yeastx 2 + Sugar syrup + another beverage/liquid yet to be named perhaps dragon's blood. Hard to balance this brewing process and it's difficult to make with out blowing up the still too. ~275 trivial maybe even 300.
Straha's StormAle- when drunk target is engulfed in a crackling blue aura of lightning (don't stand in the way of the belch for Brell's sake!) For straha it does what pure mana does to him- for others the effects is like getting hit with a bolt of lightning made of alcohol (ie 200 pts of alcohol intake in one draught...talk about powerful brew!!!- even masters of drinking tremble at the thought of this beverage!)

Help on common bugs fought that have common drops in iksar areas as well as commonly foraged by iksar too would be appreciated (ie mosquitos etc)
I'll take care of the wines myself.
The others should fall into place.

BTW Brodder has gone into Cabilis to show it could be done with Catbik and a Paladin and an Ogre warrior who was promised food (lots of slave frogs were pulled during my stay.) I killed certain fish until one cabilis faction was neutral, but they still attacked me for some reason- BAH! (It was bugged and accepted as such...but never found out if the fix went in-dunno if Brodder's resets since then have affected that faction either. Took me a week of play and using group near turn ins for ogre to get the faction messages too!

Exiting Cabilis was the second biggest train I ever made in the game. We had seven wizards and six clerics all with PBAOE spells waiting at the zoneline for the pull. I think we crashed the zone with that much PBAOE spam too. I cast AOE stun and then my PBAOE's. We had a few observers there too. Five died (including Brodder) after rezzing and before repop we sorted out the loot. Interesting enough to make the insane KABLOOIE fun and worth it. Lots of junk folks gave to guards and other NPCs too by mistake. Apparently we got some necro's pet weak guard he used to transfer no drop stuff that another toon could kill and loot for twinking with minimal effort and loss of faction too.

Someone called that the FULL PULL too. (ie nearly entire zone) Mod rods and major group healing and Epic mob level healing tactics occurred during this pull. by time brodder reached the trap point most clerics had plenty of shared agro. Mana burn after catbik MR debuffed the remaining standing mobs by the wizzies who agreed to do the job with me finished them.
Most awesome exps and AA's that pull. Also one of the last adventures in Norrath with me behind the keyboard with Brodder too.
Stacked PBAOE damage is great especially when you have stuns going off on a count by each cleric to make sure that all the piled up mobs in area got a dose of stunning that round. Then each cleric on his count would add both of their PBAOEs then count and heal heal heal- we had one wild cleric in each group too to spot rez and rebuff/heal folks near agro levels. Everyone had root/heal potions and as much Spike damage shields as we could get too- so that each hit made the target pay for not being good and stunned.
33 seconds of super slow FPS and 75% of the mobs were down. 22 seconds later even wizzies were tanking the remainders until catbik got a MR debuff to stick and a manaburn would occur on said target.
Total kills were near 100+ probably a record many red/purples to us died too.

BTW we did this often for fun in Dark elf town too. One Invulnerable Cleric would pull the SK guild so harmtouches wouldn't insta kill them. Then the necro guild would fall then we'd go deeper and deeper until we all died then get call of hero'd out when rezzed by a Dark Elf cleric who only wanted the snazzy armors and some money...what did she care about the others? They stood in her way of being promoted after all. (grin) I do believe she was a GM and getting her good and drunk (taking pictures) may have played a minor part in the planning too...Brodder sacrificed himself for that job...darn the work...winsome lass could drink too!

What about a quest/mission where you travel into KoS territory to steal secret recipes? Something kinda like the pre-nerf Katta library mission. Run in and evade the NPC's to gain new recipes for yourself and advance to higher ones ect..

Reward: New Recipes for yourself, some $ maby and advancement. Make it like a new Abysmal sea quest or something. I always wanted more of the freebies, those were good

Such a quest and rewards would be upto Ngreth and the quest guys at SOE/EQ and not I.
Me I come up with stories and recipes that fit the game and hope they are funny enough stories to get printed and added to the game.

IF Ngreth is willing to help me on this I'll get in a page or two of Iksar recipes and one with Straha's name on it.

The Bean Ales and stories associated with them were a reward/gift to Ngreth and his wife for their support of the community and helping me get stuff in game too.

Finding Brodder's revenge was a great time here on the boards for all involved. Now there are two versions - one correcting the old recipe's mistake...

Bean ales are Ngreth Brews by all but name. The Chewy Chews something for his wife to cook up while he gets toasted and checks if the neighbors are still wiggling...( )

All of my old quests I wrote up so long ago I think are in game now in one variation or another and probably were used as a format for other quests. And no I didn't write them up as time sinks...they got changed into something that made them so- a decision above my paygrade (especially since I don't get paid ).

For me it's fun and a writer's credit I can claim that no one else really can (who else can say they've been published inside a MMORPG under a pseudonym or by name? Just me as far as I know.)

I enjoy writing for my first online game and old friends I've never really met, except for them reading my stories here and over on eqclerics.org too.

This time I hope I can reward Straha for mentioning me in a strip- and if you didn't know, he's come up with two conceptual sketches of myself and catbik recently over in the WTF forums for all to see.

I can't wait to see the finished and colored versions. I'll admit it feeds my ego a bit. I also wonder if I'll see them in Card form for his WTF game too...

But keep the bug bits suggestions coming and reread my formats to get an idea of what I need and want so I can give Ngreth something he can use and present to the board for an update or for an expansion.

I might have to write up some dragonborn -dragonchanged drinks too so that fits in with the last expansion or let Ngreth come up with those himself.
I want some easy drinks and some harder ones. The named drinks (those named after another player) usually are harder to make than the average ones I send in. But that's to be expected, neh?
