The purpose of this drink is... ??

I made it thinking it was a FD proc..

Lucy lists the effect as increasing run speed slightly and makes you drunk if AT is not greater than 180.

It makes you as drunk as Ive ever been drunk and my AT is at 200. Is this a bug? You may run slightly faster.. but I bet you stagger in circles and get nowhere faster lol.

It does throw you down on the floor; however, you get the message "so-and-so has fallen to the ground" which is the same as a failed FD message...

But leaves you so drunk there is no point in trying to stand and do anything for 15 minutes afterwards.

Does it actually occasionally work as a FD potion? I tried it on mobs, and even lying down they kept hitting me... so if you get the message you have fallen... its working as a failed FD.

But does anyone know if it ever works as a real FD?

Thanks for the info. I did look for a search button but was expecting a separate button above where it actually is... and couldnt see it at first.

Guess you have to be smarter than the bb

Yup, sounds likes its working perfectly, or as Hitchikers put it, 'the experience can best be compared to being hit in the head by a lemon wrapped in a gold brick'

<please feel free to find the exact quote>

Personally, I still think it should have an FD proc, becuase its effects go far beyond 'feign' death, somewhere between 'wish you were dead', and 'genuinely convinced you are actually dead'

From the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, chapter 2:
The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.

It says that the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.

The Guide also tells you on which planets the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are mixed, how much you can expect to pay for one and what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterwards.

The Guide even tells you how you can mix one yourself.

Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit, it says.

Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V - Oh that
Santraginean sea water, it says. Oh those Santraginean fish!!!

Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzine is lost).

Allow four litres of Fallian marsh gas to bubble through it, in memory of all those happy Hikers who have died of pleasure in the Marshes of Fallia.

Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qualactin Hypermint extract, redolent of all the heady odours of the dark Qualactin Zones, subtle sweet and mystic.

Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger. Watch it dissolve, spreading the fires of the Algolian Suns deep into the heart of the drink.

            Sprinkle Zamphuor.

            Add an olive.

            Drink ... but ... very carefully ...
That should explain both the effect and the lore text. =)

I can truly say that this drink is one I had no input in other than daring them to top my best brews (think its timing came out with the movie's release too.)

I had a drink that never made it...(looking up notes)
Ahh yes... Superior Lichen Spirits (X3) Bar of Gold Essence of Sour (or lemon juice) Potion of Shrinkage and a Hammer.

I changed that recently to be a catbik (my tinkering mage companion and endless recipient of rezzes after I asked him "Here's my newest, give it a taste...hmm still too strong..." He never made it into the Great Big Book of Ooops but I think he deserves a chapter for being my taste tester for so many years. Oh and cornflunk deserves his new sash and hat too for being Faydwer's Bestest Tastest Tester ...

(this will cause problem with early quests that folks used to use to gain faction in region by turning in his and his woman's head to the guard captains I believe- suggest changing those two to different names globally and giving the pub out there it's very own tame ogre who does tricks for drink and food. Just don't give him raw bean beer- or you'll have to watch him lick the wrong end of a giant skunk...) I still have nightmares...
