  • Steaming water

I've tried and tried to get steaming water in Lavaspinner's Lair, and have now started foraging for it in the Broodlands. I've come up with about a half stack of everything else in Lavaspinner's, and a quarter stack of everything in Broodlands.
Is this a 200+ foraging skill type of item? Or am I just extremely unlucky?
For those of you that have foraged it, could you post your skill and possibly the location in zone you were at?

I've been foraging there for a while now for alchemy components for my shaman. My ranger has a skill of around 185. I usualy hang out behind the dragon statue to the right of the zone-in from Lavastorm. From what I've seen it's on the same frequency as items like draconic essence essence, marsh gas and such, but with the loot table so large there any one thing off the table is like foraging a very rare item in a normal zone. I usualy end up with about one steaming water every one to two hours foraging at best, with sometimes 3 hours or more going between any one item coming up. Honestly for me it's really hard to justify spending that type of time obtaining tradeskill components, even if I'm reading a book or doing laundry between forages. Hope this helps, good brewing.

Per this thread in General, in particular, the post by Tanker (emphasis mine):
      Just to re-verify, I visited code-land.

Any forager can forage any forageable, it's true!

A skill of 200 is as high as you need to get the maximum success chance.

Those with skill over 100 get a bonus to their chance of receiving uncommon and rare forages from zones that have them.
I am also at 200, and only rarely come away with steaming water on my cursor. The forage tables are just so large in most DoN zones that you're likely just having a bad streak with the RNG.

Thanks, that puts my knowledge where I need it to be. I guess I'll just be more persistent. Still haven't gotten any, and have 5 draconic essences and around 7 marsh gas, but that just means I'm really unlucky... lol
        Thanks for the help! :-)

Just to give you a little more anectdotal evidence: I did 2 back-to-back Creator missions last night, and over the course of BOTH missions (probably about 3 hours total), I came away with 1 Air-Infused and 2 Steaming waters. Several other items reached quantities as high as 6 (some I didn't count because I ran out of space, and was trying to keep some specific alchemy drops for guild shamans).

            MURPHY'S LAW OF FORAGING:

Whatever it is you're after, you'll end up with less of than other foraged items in DoN.

Hehe, I needed coarse salt a few weeks ago, and got a ton of alchemy forages. My friend with a shaman who needs those took his druid to forage for alchemy items and got a ton of coarse salts and mushrooms. This happened to both of us vendor diving the same day, each finding only what the other one needed.

Of course, since we could trade that worked out all right....
