How many unknown recipies are out there ?

Looking at alot of "brews" that are available from NPC's, that we don't have recipies for (not that I am saying we should be able to do them all, or in fact any of them).

But I have just been thinking about it recently, as I was also thinking about unsolved quests, I remember a long time ago VI saying a very large percentage of quests had not been solved. IF the players of EQ have not discovered all of the quests, therefore that means its possible that some brewing recipies are still out in Norrath undiscoverd.

Anyways the above outlines what I was thinking when coming to this question.

So what do you think ?

I think VI doesn't really know what they are talking about and just toss that out there.

We know of quests which were broken in game and not fixed for three years, as well as quests which were broken then simply had the npcs forever removed instead of fixing them. If we KNOW about some quests like that, how many more quests they think are "working" might even have a broken key word or phrase to start them? It could be 100's.
Judging by what we've found that was broken, its obvious that they don't test it after putting it in. They just assume it works and move on.


people have hailed and talked with every npc in the game, through most of luclin at least, by now. Any quest not found yet is because it is unfindable because something is wrong.

There is a "Quests requiring Tradeskills" on this website.... but if there is a website devoted to it, would love to know the address (ps I checked via Google and couldn't find anything)...

How many unknown recipies are out there ?

I love questions like this. The very question means its not answerable.

If we knew how many recipies are unknown, I think they'd be known.

I am hoping for a couple uber store bought ingredient brews that add 10 to to all stats, 100 mana and 100 hp, and +20 to all saves... but somehow I don't think its coming out anytime soon.

I hope this isn't too far off topic, but I kind of judge how many undiscovered quests/recipes there are by the number of things which would seem to be usable, but have no recorded use.

Example: small, medium, large bowls

You need master skill to make them, but they seem to have no known use. I even tried using them one day with random stuff I had in my packs. It's sort of interesting that the large bowl seems to fit fine inside the mixing bowl. /boggle

I guess on the topic if brewing, maybe if I put them in the brew barrel with some meat, some broth might come out.

Missing recipes?

of the top of my head....

Test of Hate Brewing quest for Dark Elfs/High Elf Discover the SPY Quest...A Pixie based faydwer special brew... yes that's the first of my missing Diaries.

Brodder's Revenge- or Hair of the Dwarf that bit you.

Red Hot Vodka- Hot spices, Vodka.

Hot Toddy- Rum, Cider/Tea, Cinamon stick, piece of butter, icing(sweetner)

Gnomish Pirate Grog (Catbik Tinkerton's Cureall)- recipe may have been too funny and risque for EQ...think I made the devs I sent it to spew coffee and mt dew on their computers...

ROK recipes... Iksar Salts- blood, salt, brewing stuffs, makes a chunky, frothy salty beverage that can act like a meal for a shedding iksar- promotes good scale and teeth growth-replacement.

Druid Vision Broth- mushrooms...plants...leaves...pixie dust...fruit juice...some mana...uhoh...maybe a quart of minobrew might have been better...

Ogre Bean beer...explosive...and source of ogre humor...barbarians and gnomes find it funny too...well the gnomes do unless they're behind a Barb or ogre drinking this...


There are about 40-50 recipes I submitted that nefver made the cut or were implemented due to time constraints...
what Yakatizma and co did with em I dunno....

BUT I do know I want my Brell's battlemug back!!!
