just got 250 in brewing this past weekend. i went to make my trophy and failed. why is it that that brew trophy takes a gnome only made item and is hard to make when any other skill trophy is very minor compared to the brewing one?

A question of brewers everywhere.
We are the only ones who can't feasably make our own trophies...
Other skills can get JC and Pottery up a bit, and make a seal (so can we), then use a minor common item they can replace in 10-20pp....
The only reason I can think of, and probably verants excuse, is that we can get to GM for under 1k (or 248) and with store bought items.
Other skills people invest 300k by the time they can go for a trophy. So us having to spend a few extra k per attempt is just our punishment for choosing an easy skill I think.
I feel for you though, next week if I profit enough this week, I will make my first fail on the Trophy combine

but why make our item gnome made only? has anyone asked to have this changed? i would not mind the hardness of the item if it was makeable by any race.Comment

I couldn't agree more with that aspect of it.
Maybe you should post on a sony monitored board about it.
I would love to be able to make my trophy from scratch, it would feel more of an accomplishment. Even if the cost of components was the same or slightly more than the cost of the device.
I already have the corking devices for 3 tries, and with the effort I went through to get them I wouldn't want it changed til after I fail those 3 attempts.
