I've been trying to find out if the ale is droppable. Anyone know?

No but it can be multiquested.
Perfectly safely MQable. All you do with the ale is hand it to Captain Beradin, and his faction cannot be altered from its default at dubious so don't worry about that, you can be KoS to every faction on velious for all he cares. After a few minutes he will fall down (it looks like FD, you can't miss it) and then you kill him.

Well, there is this one server....
As with most non-Epic items, TAA is droppable on FV, so I've pulled a few PP down combining for people, and I don't have to go out and MQ with them 8). I've had several requests to stock it, but at 45, I just don't think that's reasonable yet...
