  • Potency?

I find it sad that I am a fairly skilled brewer... yet have no idea 'why' there are 30 different types of alcohol in the game.

Is it purely for RP purposes?

I thought maybe my Mino Hero's brew was more potent than store bought short beer... but the opposite seemed to be true.

I tested from fully sober to "You can't possibly get any more drunk":

12 short beers (133 alcohol tolerance)

later once my vision had cleared completely, and my int was back to max, i tried with Mino Hero's brew:

16 downed before I was drowned (137 alcohol tolerance)

I ruled out the skill in alcohol tolerance, because I had previously been able to down more than 12 mino brews.

    So what does this mean?

I want to be the most knowledgable guy on brew in my guild, and not just the drunkest.

So is there any reason at all game wise to buy Mino Hero's Brew vs. cheap vendor bought brew?

Sounds like a great idea for a study - put together toon after toon with identical stats and see how many of each drink it takes to get them wasted or wait till you max out your AT and test all the drinks on yourself.

    Thanks for volunteering!

In the name of science, I will.

Might be a bit before I am at 200, hehe, I'm selling most stuff back to vendor .

The only problem with a test at zero is that the max you seem to be able to drink at a zero skill is 1 drink... because it instantly raises your skill... and your no longer at zero.

Also I think Int may matter, it seems to lower your int by a specific amt, and stops you when you can't get any dumber. That may just be my experience, and its a percentage of int, not a set amt.

Now I'm wondering why this matters...

Perhaps a less strong brewed concontion is better for controlling how drunk you are when fighting.
