costs approximately 125pp per 100 combines. costs may rise of course depending on if you buy brownie/fruit/veggies in bazaar.

Nope 125 pp for 100 combines

that is roughly 1,25 pp per combine

Now trow in the succesrate- say around 50% on average (dependant on skill-amount of poinst you skill up on with MTP)

that makes 2,5 pp a combine

Normal clicking fee of around 5pp makes for a nice price of 7,5 pp per MTP

But yes- it is still nice to be able to make a profit on a skill-up path for a change. most skill-ups just cost a load of pp.

And -no it is not a get rich fast scheme- One picknic is just too many clicks for that

50% success at 250 skill + trophy. considerably LESS success at lower skills. by the time i factor in collecting everything for them (buying up in the bazaar for whatever forages i'm short on, etc) I find my cost to be right around 50pp per stack of picnics (not per stack of attempts). considering you can find these in the bazaar for 100plat a stack any day (far less when everyone's on a baking binge) i would have to say they pay for themselves, rather than making you any money. server dependent, of course!

i don't make em anymore. If folks want them, i send em to any guildmate who's working on skill, and tell them to offer at least 50pp per stack. At skills below 230 this isn't even breaking even.

as has been stated plenty of other places, do trades cuz you love doing trades. not cuz you think you're going to get rich on them. yes, i make a profit on baking, NOW! I sure didn't while i was working it to 250! I kept clicking cuz i was having a lot of fun eating weird things while everyone else ate iron rations and bottles of milk. how dull. that, and i'm a RL baker

Prices keep bouncing around so badly on Quellious that I've stopped making MTP's and just buy them up when I find them at 4pp each and resell for 7.5pp. I make about as much as if I made them myself and my wrist doesn't take the damage

              125 pp for 100 combines
yield is 4 per... so 100 combines = 400 picnics
              ??
so assuming 100% success thats just over 3 GOLD per picnic....
              50% success at 250 skill + trophy
ok so with a yeild of 4 pinics per.... and a 50% fail....
              100 combines = 200 picnics...

so thats just over 6 gp straight cost (thats GOLD not plat)
round up for ... say cost of the pain that it is to make
so say.... on average ... 1 plat per picnic...
when they sell at 5-10 pat each that is STILL a nice profit margin..

and im doing it to skill up at first but i would like to get a regular trader goin with this stuff being sold... i have no delusions of getting rich quick, i just LOVE tradeskills... well except maybe tailoring lol

heck if i really try... in the time im makign the 100 attempts i can make 125pp from buffing ect (lvl 65 cleric) and i can normally knock off 100 attempts in a 2 hour period if im slacking at it... i can easily see making a nice regular income from this with ease....
and im calculating this all out for when i get 250 + trophy... i know that while im skilling up profit from this is going to be a rather moot point

                cost per

This is from memory so I may be a bit off. I get a skill up every 40 attempts roughly. I have been using MTPs, for the most part, to go from 197 to 229. I will continue doing this til I hit 250. I have gotten a point here and there using other recipes, so let's say I gain 50 points off of MTPs. That's 2000 attempts for those 50 points. The cost is roughly 1.5 PP per attempt so that's 3000 PP out of pocket. I paid roughly 3000 PP for my trophy and was successful first try. That brings my total out of pocket to 6000 PP. If I assume a 25% success rate (which may be high) over those 2000 attempts I get 2000 MTP. I would have to charge 3 PP per pie to break even if I sold them all. I use my MTPs and give my surplus to guildmates. If you do the same and/or you are not successful on your trophy on the first try your cost to break even goes up quite a bit. If you succeed on your second trophy attempt the cost to break even becomes 4.5 PP per MTP.

trophy costs should not be included in the cost to make MTPs as they are not necessary. If you really feel the need to include a modifier, geerloks are <100pp on my server and do the same thing as a trophy. The only thing that should be calculated in cost is the items *required* to make the recipe.

im also NOT considering the cost of the attempts it is taking me to GET UP to 250...
im caluculating what it will be like once im 250 and how much regular profit i could get from it... the cost of trophy and the cost of raising my skill to said level isnt really a problem... easily affordable...
also annother reason not to factor in trophies..... is that even at 250+ geerlok it can be failed...

Baking is a tradeskill with a low investment in capital. I try not to make alot of things for them, like baskets etc. Vendor farm around vendors in PoK and SH to pick them up for 1.6 gold each. Jum Jum beer is generally plentiful on brewing vendors also. This saves ALOT of time and some money. Random other items like mints and other thing can also be found on occasion. Once i even found about 200 MTP ona vendor for a plat or 2 each. Boguth them all and sold for 5pp each, not bad profit, but nothing to make you rich.

I like baking. It does not cost much and has a pretty decent pfofit margin. Hobgobln surprises sell for 250pp fairly easily on my server, and tormentor stir fry goes for over 500pp each. Hero sandwichs and justice fruit pies also sell for 40-150pp each rather easily.

I don;t do MTP very often anymore, although i have done hundreds of combines in the past I hunt in BoT for vann toes and such and buy them when i see on NPC vendors. Baking is cheap and easy, and a nice supplemental income.

If your just wonder about success rate at 250 baking skill. Ive made about 10000 attempts at 250 baking with a trophy, my avg success rate was 56%
