Sigh... 250

Well, I was sitting at 248 in baking, with my spoon, but wanted to get to 250. So I get set up to do 200 combines of MTPs. I went through all 200 combines, but did not see the skill increase message, nor the usual you can no longer increase your skill from this message. So, I was thinking, dang, 200 combines and no skill points. But then, I checked my skills, and it says that I am a master with a skill of 250.

2 questions;

Even if the trivial for MTPs is 350+, and the cap for skills is only 250, shouldn't you still get the can no longer advance your skill message?

And at 250 if you become a GM in something, why doesn't it list it as that on your skills, or is that just a name given by people when you reach that level?

First off, congrats on making 250. Having made a few MTP's at 250 myself, you never get the "you cannot advance..." message. I suppose since at 250, we can't advance on any recipe, it would be redundant.

I've seen a couple of threads on the term Grandmaster. Apparently the fine folks on the boards can't even agree what the term means. The only place I've seen it in game is on the trophy.

As for your question, if the actual trivial of an item is above 250, you will never get the "You can no longer advance in making this item" message. Even if you have GM'ed that tradeskill. Because you have to hit the trivial for that message to come up, and since you can't raise the skill anymore...Well, you get the idea.

I wish you luck in your future with baking and any other tradeskills you decide to work on.
