  • Best way from 192 to 200?

i'm actualy a GM brewer, so i can't raise baking higher, what's the better way till 200? ohabah truffles, MTP, HMP, grif/anaconda melt? or anything better?
    thx for your answers,

As with most skills, I'd say: whatever you can get your hands on the ingredients for :P

I personally did almost 6 stacks of truffles this morning, and got from 191 to 195 skill. Wasn't too bad, but the mushrooms I'd had lying around for a while (friend gave them to me)

I will probably do truffles and pixie cinnisticks to 202, and then other stuff after that.

I have one character who's a GM blacksmith. His baking is 198, and he's gotten all but 2 points past 191 making pixie powder cinnie sticks. (all but a tiny bit of the ingredients were merchant mined, the rest was looted) the other two were from a run of 80 10lb. Halas Meat Pies, which I will never, ever make again (subcombine hell). He's now at 198.

I have a GM Brewer whose at 191 baking now. I'm thinking about MTP's, since getting together 100 attempts at them actually isn't all that difficult. I'll do runs of 100 until I hit 200, and be happy.

      Good luck!

        Best way is relative

As I said in my subjectline....the best way is relative. It all depends on how much you wanna farm versus how much you can buy (and its availability).

That being said...my lvl 65 chanter found that Obahah Truffles to be relatively easiest to gather....even though I don't have a forager for it. There are usually some for sale in the bazaar or (cheaper method) just /ooc for them in Shadowhaven for half the price they sell for in bazaar. You can usually gather up 2-3 stacks per day with just 10 min effort. (Don't bother /ooc'ing for more than 10 min in any 3 hour period...)

DO NOT use griffon/anaconda meat for early skillups unless you like farming JP (hopefully for exp). I spent 3 hours there farming just 41 meats...for one skill-up at 203. The primary problem is just killing them fast enough and finding more (chanter summoned pet can easily solo...)

I enjoying soloing or duoing in Tactics for experience so I tend to gather alot of boar meat... (but again I recommend saving it for later skill-ups.)

Friends tell me to fish in the planes but it sounds kinda boring...so ...

I agree with what others have said; the best method differs from character to character. If you don’t mind foraging in Luclin zones for mushrooms, truffles may be the way to go. If you like to fish, breaded storm salmon might be the way to go, though you would still have to forage/buy the breadcrumbs. If you have access to the meat and don’t plan to take baking any higher with AAs, then griffon and anaconda melts could get you some points. If you’re a masochist, I mean if you don’t mind doing a lot of sub combines then Halas meat pies is also a valid skill path. The advantage of Halas pies is most of the items are store bought, which means much less time spent farming and/or foraging. Or if you’re rich you can bypass a lot of the farming/foraging and buy most of what you need in the bazaar.

Combine whatever is the most available to you and don’t get discouraged if you have long dry spells with no skill ups. You’ll likely hit those no mater which path you choose to take.

If you want to work on fishing simultaneously, you could make Storm Salmon Fillets until 200 (trivial at 202).
