  • Powerskilling, Is it there for baking past 190??

I was thinking before while doing baking that its pretty easy to skill upto 191 but after that it gets alot harder to skill upto 250, from what I gatherd its alot of time to farm the items and it tend to get some what more expensive too.

I was curious to those GM bakers that have recently done the skill up's what they did to get the 250 skill, anyone else who has any imput/suggestions would be good,... what would be a good route to skill up on to 250

    Any suggestions welcome

In most cases, I do not think there is anyway to get to 250 without at least some minimal farming.

Baking however, makes the farming fairly easy. To get to 226, just make halas pies. Your farming can be done pretty much on the vendors for wolf and mammoth meat. Eggs can be had by the bag load in lavastorm from the basilisks.

Post 226, just do picnics. The only thing you will need to farm is brownie parts for the cake. You need eggs, but so few, it makes no difference if you use snake eggs for this part.

Anyway, expect to click a LOT.... I have actually worn a mouse out trying to skill up my other skills after baking.

What rout you take to 250 baking has a lot to do with how quickly you want to get there. If you aren’t in a big hurry, hunt in Jagged Pine and use the griffin meat for Griffin Melts and anaconda meat for Anaconda Melts. Both of these will take you to 250 and are extremely easy to make once you have the meat. And if you can forage you can make cheesy vegetable casserole from the plant shoots, which will also take you to 250. Halas Pies and Misty Picnics are faster to do in bulk, since you can buy most of the ingredients, but the room they take up in your packs and the intense clicking can be a pain.

        Truffles?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Ohabah Truffles. These things are a great way to skill up past 200 and trivial out at 202.

Do Truffles while you can. The points past 202 are painful enough without having to do HMPs or MTPs. Holy Cakes are easy, but a lot more expensive, and you'll need a LOT of brownie parts to even think about using them to skill up on.

What I discovered is that 200-215ish is a very rough time for skill ups.

Once I hit 215-220, I flew up to 250 in about 2 days of very casual playing.

If you got lots o money, just do Misty Picnics. All the parts are obtainable in SH. I also did some minor tailor/smithing/brewing so I didn't have to look for those peeps to make the beer or picnics.

Only other pain was gettin foraged veggies

Recall that you'll need to forage veggies and farm a boat load of brownie parts before SH has everything that you need for these.

I'm pretty sure you only need one brownie part (maybe two) for 100 combines of MTP. And veggies can be gotten fairly inexpensively in the bazaar. I sell them for 2g each, though tonight I noticed they were being sold for 1p each.

But the brownie part is by far the hardest to get - but it's fairly easy to get off Nillipuss in Rivervale.

Overall, prices have been going up on my server.

                  Powering up

"If you got lots o money, just do Misty Picnics."

Strange, I found them to be very cheap to skill up on.

Not including the eggs, fruit, veggies, and brownie parts (ie. non-vendor stuff), I bought enough materials for 290 MTP attempts in Shadowhaven for less than 350pp. So that works out to about 1.25pp per attempt.

Now for this run, I needed a few brownie parts, fruits, and eggs (5 or less each), so even if you can't forage/hunt them yourself, it's no big expense. I did need 30 veggies, so if you can't forage your own, you may be looking at 20-50pp there.

So at most, a run of 290-300 MPTs will cost you 400pp.

I made about 100 MTPs in this run (about 25 successes). So if you sold all you made, you'd have to charge about 4pp each. They sell in the bazaar for about 15-20pp each on my server, so this is a net-profit way to skill up baking. Of course, there would be about 10^12 mouse clicks to do it all this way =)
