  • Noodles not combining?

For about a week I have been trying (for the first time) to make noodles. I have a baking skill of 135. I have printed the fabulous recipe chart and gathered my ingredients. However everytime I try to combine a cup of flour, water flask and an egg (various types attempted) I get a does not combine in this container type message. I have tried using an oven, a spit and even a mixing bowl. Is this a known recipe problem? Does anyone have any ideas about what I may be doing wrong?

Sure the water flask is just that? Not a "Pod of Water" (which is foraged), or a "Flask of Bloodwater"?

It should be done in a Spit, Over, Tanaan Oven or Collapsible Spit.

And the last question... WHICH Egg(s) are you trying? Some won't work.

I am sure about the water, it is store bought and not my foraged supply.

I have tried with snake eggs, basilisk eggs, aviak eggs and niflik eggs. The snake eggs I believe I looted, I have had them in my inventory a long time. The others are foraged.

What about the flour? Are you sure it's a cup of flour and not something else with the same icon, like a cup of sugar?

And where did you buy the cup of flour? I'm not entirely sure because I haven't tested it, but I know for a FACT the flour you get in Qeynos at the bakery shop in South(?) Qeynos is a different cup of flour from the ones you get in other locations. That particular cup of flour is used for making the dough in the rat ear pies for the paw of Opalla quest that you give to Vin Moltar in the Catacombs. I remember making a rat ear pie once not using this flour and he didn't take it. Maybe it is also restricted in what it can make if that is the flour you are using?

            No problems here

I just finished about 100 combines between snake and basilisk eggs (both looted) with cup of flour and flask of water bought in Shadow Haven (at the oven merchant).

I recommend dumping what you have (or sticking it in the bank), going and getting fresh supplies and try again. Then when you have a success, pull out one of the offending items (if you kept them) and troubleshoot that way. Use 2 known good items and one of your old and see if you get the combine, do that 'til you find the offending item. Just my 2cp.

Your flour is probably stale. Seriously, there was an issue a while back when they intoduced noodles with two different kinds of flour floating around. The one that works weighs 0.1, while the other weighs 0.2.

Well I have successfully made noodles. YAY!!!

I believe that I had old, stale flour. (though I've never shopped in Qeyons) The old flour worked perfectly well with the eggs I had to make a clump of dough.

When I bought new flour it didn't stack with the old. (Though I didn't check for a weight difference) The description "cup of flour" was the same.

I am especially happy to make noodles since I have been able to raise my baking to 155 making pinemyer pasta.

Congrats on being able to forawrd your baking!

As for the flour only thing I can think of was someone bought some then sold em back to a vendor that you found them on and bought them. /shrug Qeynos quest flour is evah if you aren't making dough! /nodnod

Thanks for letting us know, I was beyond curious as to what the issue was.

I still had two of the "stale" a cup of flour. I checked and like the flour that worked they had a weight of 0.1. I tried again to combine them to make noodles and got the same not in this container message. I know that I had that flour in the bank for a long time. (several real life months) Perhaps it had different coding than "current" flour. I not being a computer code kinda gal don't know why it didn't work, but it made excellent clumps of dough.

Thanks to everyone who helped me ponder this.
