  • Payala Fruit: New foraged fruit for baking?

 Can Payala fruit be used for baking and brewing now? Since the introduction of the 6/11/03 patch for tradeskill labels on skillable items, one just happened to pop up on Payala fruit, a foraged fruit found on Luclin. I will post more about it after some trial and error, I just went on a mad foraging expedition and gathered 100 of the little morsels, should be enough to test my theory

    Payala fruit for brewing

Payala fruit has always been (well, at least since Luclin) used for brewing - 1 fruit + 1 water in a brew barrel - trivial at 187.

You can also turn in 4 fruits to the female merchant in the zone (next to the payala trees) 4 times and get 4 payala fruit nectars. Turn these 4 nectars into Chialle and you get Chialle's Friendship Ring. +5 HP - nice easy ring for newbies.

I believe that there are 16 spawn points and the respawn rate is 15 minutes, but I'm not certain on the respawn rate.

    Hope this helps.
    Hugs & Rainbows,

Payala Fruit + Water makes Essence of Shar Vahl used to make the Spiritstone of Shar Vahl.

You're thinking of Heady Paeala and Paeala Bark Tanin which are made from vendor purchased ingredients.

Getting back to the title of the thread.... did you forage payala fruit or find a ground spawn? If foraged, what zone?

                They're groundspawn in Shadeweavers thicket.
They always spawn around the base of a particular type of tree (payala trees probably )
I'm not sure how to describe them but there a small group of them just past the bank and along that side of the zone - once you find one you'll know what sort of tree to look for and you should be able to pick up a stack fairly quickly

actually, running at Run3 I manage to get all 27/28 in the zone (or at least on the SV side of the zone) and be back around to the bank just about the time the first ones start respawning.

Making these in the mid-high 100s is a lot better than most other brewing, because there is a LOT less to combine...

There is an excellent writeup in the brewing forum called: "Fruit spawns just so it doesn't get lost" Someone has very nicely detailed where to find all 28 ground spawns.
I just used it last night to gather up 200 of em for a brewing skillup run I honestly cant say if I got any payala while foraging - I wasnt keeping track that well. Next time I go to Shadeweavers I'll try to take note of if I forage any...

They are foraged as well as being groundspawn under almost all the blue-leafed trees.

Sad to say, my hopes were smashed.

I was so dissapointed. Turns out Essence is the only tradeskill they can be used for, other than that, they are a great snack or a great turn in for 4 bottles of Payala Nectar, which can be turned in for a Chiali's Friendship Ring. Nice little ring for beginners, and is a low light source as well. No baking allowed <sniffle>. I was so hoping I could make marmalade out of them and make some nice sandwiches.
