Well, I managed to reach skill of 191 with my ranger in baking, but then i just couldnt bear the thought of thousands of HMP and MTP combines and subcombines. Well i just recently made a mage and dumped about 2k in gear into him, just barely managed to get to 250 int off of that. I still have all of the baking supplies stored, and am interested in getting suggestions on what materials and recipes i should use to skill up on, i have almost enough supplies to crank out 2000 MTP combines if i have to, but would rather save atleast a portion of thoose to make them and sell when i need cash to continue with my tradeskilling madness.

Same skill path as before -

fish fillets >fish rolls >bear fillets >patty melts - gratz! you're at 191 again - feel free to skip as many steps as you want.

Now, at this point, alot of very mean, nasty, evil people are going to suggest you do things like those truffles or the halas meat pies - trust the skunk on this one - these people do not have your best interests at heart - they are trying to crush both your wrist and spirit by sending you on fool's tasks and distracting you from your true destiny of becoming a GM baker.

As a side note, if you can somehow score the components to the various PoP recipes and don't mind burning them on probobly failures, those recipes are quite optimal to skill on.

Currently ranger can forage all tier 1 PoP zones, and i do dumpster dive every once in a while, found a few pop recipe parts, and i forage consistently the roaches, crumbs and fruits, but i can never find the fish that go with the crumbs.

Go fish for crawdads; buttered crawdads is 203? I think and sugared roach 212? something like, I'm too lazy to go check. But it's an alternative to fetching brown algae for truffles. I also found that griffon and anaconda melts gave much faster skillups then most other 250ish recipes, for whatever reason (I assume a lower actual trivial).
