Took about 3 weeks, here's the stats for those interested in such things: (it's not 100% accurate, just what I remember, all were in big clumps).
Got my 3 aa for tanaan mastery, had 40 mushrooms left over for Ohabah truffles, hit 202 in the first 20.
Had a bunch of jord meat / boar meat / vann toes saved up from the last 2 months of not being ready to spend aa. Got to 208 with those (roughly 60-70 combines).
Made my first run at Halas meat pies (saturday). Setup for 100 combines, got 3 skillups to 211.
Had some extra jord meat from exping in BoT, got to 212 on them (10 maybe).
Next week saturday morning comes around, I decide to run another 100 HMP's through. Mad skillups ensue, I ended up at 220 on 100 combines. Luck was so good I took a break for a while, then came back later that afternoon and setup for another 100 combines. Got to 226 on those (with about 20 to spare, combined anyways).
Total HMP's: 300 combines, I ended up with 1195 on my trader mule, plus gave about 60 away. About 70% success rate overall (very rough estimate, might have sold some between weeks), and 16.6 combines per skillup. Quite a good rate if you ask me.
Sunday morning I'm feeling good after such a run on HMP's, figure I'll start off on the fun quest of MTP's. I setup for 100 combine run again, but only get 2 skillups to 228 skill. After having such luck previous, I was pretty bummed. Decided I was going to need a HUGE skill setup to finish these off, so I made a gnome warrior mule, parked him in shadowhaven with 24 traders satchels, and proceeded to make 600 each of all the ingredients and load him up. Did about 260 combines that day (after already doing 100 in the morning and prepping for 600 combines), got skill to 234.
Wednesday comes around and I've finally got time to finish those off, so I take off and do 340 combines tonight, and bumped skill up to 247 (last point on the 5th to last combine).
Totals for MTP's: 700 combines, roughly 1100 yielded (39% success rate - it was around 20% for the first 150 combines). 21 skillups, for a 33.3 combine per skillup rate. Not quite as good as the HMP's, but manageable I suppose.
I intend to finish the last 3 points on jord meat / boar meat / vann toes, unless I somehow manage to sell all 1k MTP's before that happens.
Total cost: Probably no more than 3k plat, and almost all of that recouped already by selling results. If only all tradeskills were this cheap.
