different routes
Why do people almost immediately always say go for the HMPs and MTPs as skill up routes past 191?
Both of those are extremely time consuming, wrist-killing, and basically boring. You might as well tell someone to just go GM brewing instead and have them brew Minotaur Hero's Brew.
There are many ways to get above 191. I personally went the Ohabah Truffle and Pixie Powder Cinnistick route to get to 202. Killing Pixies in LFay got bit monotonous, but I also got 2 stacks of brownie parts off the outcasts that spawned and helped out several rangers looking for the quest parts.
I was able to buy just about all the mushrooms and cinnamon sticks I wanted in the bazaar. It took a couple of weeks of checking for prices under 3pp/item (I refused to pay over that) If I'd been willing to pay more, I could have bought enough much sooner.
Overall it took me about 15 stacks of mushrooms and 5 stacks of cinnamon. I'm a bard, and my INT is only 220 with KEI and while twisting my amp song and my INT song, so this could have gone quicker than it did.
If you can fish, or have friends who can fish in PoS, then that is the route to go. If you can get bread crumbs (again I bought these in bazaar for 2pp each) you can get to 215.
After that try the JaggedPine route if you are of a highenough level/right class to survive.
Plus if you are fighting in PoD or PoN you can collect swamp rat parts or blood raven parts too.
I've made several thousand HMPs, and after the last batch I dont think I'll go back to them at all. Griffawns may be green, but at least they drop some pp and their meat will get me to 250.
So my advice is to stay away from the HMPs and MTPs. Unless of course you enjoy mindless clicking of the mouse during all the subcomines not to mention the actual attempts at the 8 item foods. If that's the case then good luck and more power to you.

dunno, but I've been thinking of doing these...not too hard to farm the ingredients:
lotus pie thick lotus paste, clump of dough spit/oven, pie tin miraculous meal, CHA 9 6 236
and the paste is made from:
thick lotus paste sweet lotus sap*, allspice, flour, cream spit/oven meal; CHA 9 1 >101 <=141
*(can also use sticky lotus sap, soft lotus petals, black lotus stem - note that ALL new cave lotus drops from Dulak will NOT work!!)Velikij

I tried MTPs at 191 and after 80 combines, I had one success (two of which I used on my solstice/xanthe's earrings) and no skillups. I did about 40 Truffle combines a few days later and got to 193. I'm sticking to Truffles I think especially since I didn't realize the yield was so high on the subcombines and ended up with 10+ stacks of dark chocolate creme!

Well... MTP are good to use to get skillups... but not at 191.. Come on, You can't expect to get very many sucessful combines at that skill level. MTP is trivial at 250+. I suggest getting your skill to 202 through Ohabah Truffles and Pixie Powder Cinnesticks. Then go to HMP, then MTP. That's what I did, and I'm currently at 223, and I am making tons of MTP and money. At least 200p per stack. What a deal.
