Stat Stacking

I recently started making Qeynos Afternoon Tea to complement my well honed Halas Pie making skill. Twas after a great deal of hunting and head scratching that i finally got all the bits i needed (Kingsthorn was a pain to get) and sat myself down and made some Tea.
My question is has anyone else noticed that the stats from Food do NOT seem to stack with the stats from Drink, or was i just so tired and Wool Headed that i was missing my stats going up ?

did you make sure you didn't have some water flasks above your QATs? because mine always stack
