  • Need advice about using my Hero parts..and other PoP stuff

Hi my baking skill is currently at 200 I have about 14 stacks of Hero Parts (lots of quadding in HoH --I've been combining Halsa pies..for what seems like..forever  ..of course. I'm just wondering...would it be best to keep my hero parts till I triv out on pies? Do my chances to skill up increase if I combine these parts at a higher skill level?? I really am dreading Picnics..and would like to avoid them at all costs.
Doing some salmon fishing in PoS, Boar killing in PoTactics..and plant shoot purchasing too.

Heh, I'd save the parts til you get very close to 250, actually. I am at 250 with spoon and I still fail on Hero Sandwiches a lot.

Unless you only want skill-ups, but if you were to use the hero parts for that you'd be failing a lot and burning up potential sales to recoup your investment. (HMPs.. lots of clicking, lots of fennel and sage, and an ever-dropping sale price in bazaar.)

I was scared of Misty Thicket Picnics like you, but out of all the recipes I have tried, I found them the most pleasant. I do them in batches of 100 combines, which is 10 stacks of cake slices and 5 stacks of everything else. It looks very intimidating until you realize the high yield on things.. 5 stacks of Royal Mints? That's only 10 combines! So too with the salad, beer, etc etc.

Picnics may require a lot of clicking but HMPs require MORE CLICKING, and even worse.. repetitive clicking. Meat + knife, meat + sauce. Over and over and over..

MTPs require tailoring and smithing, but you don't need a terribly high skill in either. Skill up smithing with Baking implements (Hey, you can use what you make! Cool!), and getting Tailoring to the low 80s isn't hard. A few skins, some spider silks.. I actually skilled Tailoring from 50 to whatever the trivial is on Woven Mandrake for picnics. It was expensive but it was convenient.

250+spoon, my yield on sandwiches is about 75%. If the recipe was as simple as hero part+bread=sandwich, I could see saying screw the plat and do the easy combines (much like the plant shoot combines you're already doing), but there's plenty of annoying subcombines that take away some of the allure. You're looking at an average of 20-30 non-trivial combines per skillup, so even with a "good" hero part farm rate, it's going to take a while...

If you're hell-bent on getting to 250 ASAP, then MTPs are the way to go (understand you will fail a LOT until your skill gets up towards max). The tiny quantity of fruit and brownie parts should be easy to get in the bazaar; veggies are the only non-vendor item you'll really need a lot of.
