have seen Mushroom (with a capital M) and a mushroom for sale in bazaar. which of these works for the truffle recipe?

The one I know works is just called "Mushroom". I've never seen "a mushroom", but I assume it does not work for truffles.

The item you want is simply called "Mushroom" It is a foraged item that is also a meal in and of itself. The icon for it is the broad, open-umbrella like topped mushroom with the orange and white speckles.

The item called "a mushroom" is no drop and not edible. The icon for it is the narrower, gum-drop like topped mushroom that is dark brown on top, medium brown on the lower half of the crown and with a white stalk.

        Mushrooms

I spent many hours in Shadow Haven beside "Tilo the Gardener" with great success. I believe after 6 hours of foraging I walked away 13 stacks of mushrooms. My thought if I stand in a garden, where it is dark (as oppossed to a garden outside in an open field) I should get more mushroom. /shrug it paid off for me.

I'm amazed the places I find mushrooms when I'm shopping from vendors. Somehow they manage to get from Luclin to Jaggedpine to Rivervale. Unfortunately, I'm buying them for a guildmate who has not logged on in a while. But definitely look for them on any vendor you are buying from.
