Might someone be able to confirm if this recipe actually uses a looted "alligator meat" or if, rather it uses the merchant supplied "gator meat"?

    Thanks!

I’ve never actually made this item, but your question can be answered easily enough. You can buy a piece of gator meat from the merchant in Shadow Haven and try that. Then head out to the froggie newbie zone. There are a lot of low-level alligators running around that area. You’re likely to get a piece of meat within a short period of time.

If I was at home I’d give it a shot just to see which one worked, but unfortunately I’m at work.

When I was hunting in Oasis, I used to keep all the gator eat I found from the caimans and crocodiles there. I haven't been there for a few levels, but I'm almost positive that the meat that drops off of those reptiles is "Gator Meat". Those always worked in the Beer Braised Gator recipe.

No idea where you'd find looted alligator meat. Maybe that's what drops off the Alligators in Guk. Since the Gator Meat from OoM works, I would THINK that the bought stuff would work too.

I'm not able to log-in on EQ for a few weeks so I've been making a hard-copy of all the recipes in this no-EQ interim or I would have tested the recipe myself. It shouldnt hurt to ask.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that you shouldn’t have asked. I was just trying to point out an easy location where the recipe could be tested out. I spent some time in the froggie newbie area hunting spiderlings and buffing the baby frogs. While I was there I saw a lot of low level gators which I thought would be easier to reach and easier to kill then having to go to Oasis.

I’m of the old school belief that there’s no such thing as a stupid question. Well, I’m sure someone could come up with one if they tried, but you know what I mean.
