  • Griffon meat

This may seem silly, but i have slaughtered dozens of griffons, griffawns, and griffennes in the Karana and the Commons and not ONE griffon meat. So, I come to you, my fellow traders.... where do I find this meat at. This is rather frustrating, I have reached the 191 mark and wish go farther, all i need is this meat to do so. Thanks in advance.

Here’s the problem, griffons in most areas of Norrath have extremely tough and stringy meat. Its somewhat eatable, but less so than eatable goo. And trust me, that’s bad. But then we discovered Jaggedpine, or perhaps I should say they discovered us. At any rate the lands there seem to provide some special component to the griffons’ diet. Unlike their kin in the rest of the world, their meat is tender, juicy and oh so yummy. Even the most basic meal, such as the griffon melt (griffon meat, loaf of bread, cheese), is fit to be served upon the most noble of noble tables. So I’m afraid that if you wish to create such griffon delicacies you will either have to hunt the majestic creatures in Jaggedpine or purchase the meat you need from someone who has.

        The Joys of Jaggedpine

I see from your signature that Cwin has currently served for 51 seasons. That would make Jaggedpine Forest an ideal hunting ground. I'm afraid your shaman friend will need to go about in bear form to avoid being attacked by the other animals there. The timber griffons and griffawns of Jaggedpine Forest, while famous for their meat, have been made somewhat stronger and more aggressive by the same changes in their diet that makes their meat so delectable. Experienced forest hunters in their upper forties and low fifties should find the place a veritable experience bonanza. Do go, it's a lovely place.

        Cheers,

As my kitty shaman is my new main character, and I know good and well he’ll eventually have to take his baking over 200, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but bear form will have no effect whatsoever on the animals of Jaggedpine. It seems druids are much better at animal illusions than shaman, as animals, and everyone else for that mater, see right through the illusionary bear form. I have yet to fine a single individual of any intelligence whatsoever to change their opinion of me when I dress like a bear.

Thank you, all. I stumbled across the griffons in jaggedpine hours after I had posted this. As for the use of bearform to keep from becoming part of thier diet, I'm afraid our friend is right. Bearform does not change faction as does wolfform. I would suggest that any shaman or any other class that wishes to farm meat or GLS's for that matter, to as one of the many druids in the zone for a shared wolffrom. Once again, thanks to all of you that posted. BTW, i have finally breached the 200 mark in baking now, thanks to the wonderful and yummy griffons.

I'm so glad someone tackled this question. Finally answers my question on whether or not the griffons in EK and NK drop any meat.

                Thanks again, hun!
