This past weekend a guildie hooked me up with all of her excess baking goods since she had hit 250 (I was sitting at 235). I skilled up to 239 on jord meat pies, boar chops and griffon patty melts. I noticed while doing the griffon melts that I had a huge success rate so I developed a plan to try my spoon. I was hoping to wait until 240 so I would have effectively maxed skill with geerlock but I was running out of griffon meat. So anyway here is how I did it: combined griffon melts until I finally failed (figured at this point I used up my bad luck with the RNG and that another failure shouldn't happen for a while considering my high success rate), then I popped into the oven my spoon and artisan seal. SUCCESS.
I got spoon on first try at 239 skill. Yay
(later did some blood raven stew combines and pushed skill to 241).
