  • Cheesy Vege Casserole Success Rate

I'm planning to skill up from 191 to 250 on Cheesy Vege Casserole. What kind of volume am I looking at? 1 skill up per 10 combines? 20 combines? Would appreciate anyone's feedback.

    Hmm...

If you have max wis or int (255+) I'd say expect 30 per point on average.

So for 60 points, 1800 combines is a good guess...

How many plant shoots you got exactly?

Honestly though, you may be able to do decently in JP if you kill griffons, forage, and kill anacondas... at least that way you have 3 250 recipes to work with at once.

Anaconda Melt, Griffon Melt, and your cheesy vegetable casserole.

Hmmm, 30 combines per, owie. I didn't even start foraging eggs yet. Guess my druid will have to live in JP and Skyshrine for a while. Good thing the casserole dish is returned. Thanks for the heads up. I'll forage a while longer before I start.

That's a very good guess, Delfontes! I did 30 attempts this morning at skill 207, 18 cheesy vegetable casseroles (with geerlock and WIS 270), and 1 skill up on my last bit of noodle.

For druid and ranger bakers, JP is the best place to hunt and forage. I haven’t leveled my druid in a while; I’m having too much fun with my shaman, but JP is where he was living when last I did. Between the two kind of meat and the plant shoots he’d always be able to attempt a few combines at the end of the day. And it’s great XP too. It’s a shame my shaman’s bear form won’t change his animal faction and allow him to hunt in JP as easily.

Don't forget while you fight in JP to keep the griff and anaconda meat, those go to 250 I believe.

Another helpful hint about Jaggedpine is to do a tour of the Basilisk caverns (in the 'good' gnoll Brell Temple caverns) upon entering and exiting the zone. Look for the Genitor Basilisks (usually around 3 to 5 up) which have a decent drop rate for their eggs. Take the 5 minutes or so and some free noodles!

OH my yes. I just got back into the game after a long time away and I've been living in JP. Stacked up about 260 Anaconda meats/Griffon meats/Plant Shoots. So once I get done with moving these truffles I'll be able to drop straight into that stash and hopefully avoid the MTP for as long as possible.

30 attempts per skill up sounds about right, but I found that i had better luck with things that were near my skill.
I recommend doing halas 10 pound meat pies from 191 to 226.
They're harder to make, but the only difficult ingredient is mammoth meat, and you get 10 attempts per mammoth meat.
(You need wolf meat and eggs too, but those are relatively easy to get.)
But the real win is that you can usually sell the pies for a lot more than it costs to make them.

Well, I was trying to avoid having to farm anything. I can forage and I can buy, that's why I choose the vege casserole. Looks like I'll need a few more weeks in JP. Then a few more weeks in Skyshrine for eggs.

                      What level are you Hiba?

JP exp is great starting in mid 30's to early 40's on basilisks... it is 10x easier than foraging, basilisk eggs drop up to 6 per Genitor in the cave.

Once you get slightly higher, late 40's to 50's, the Griffons and Anacondas are great fun... if you are of a class that isn't KOS to the rest of the animals anyhow.

Hehe, I'm a level 62 wizard so farming green is not my idea of fun unless I can AE them quickly. So farming zombie skins, pelts, etc. I can handle. AEing 30 mobs in Unrest/EK is kinda fun. But JP is low enough I don't get xp but high enough I can't farm it efficiently.

I forage with my druid on my 2nd acct/PC while I play my main. That's why foraging is infinitely easier.

Another option is making Misty Picnics. It’s a lot more work with the ton of sub combines, but I think it would be a lot faster than trying to forage all those plant shoots. The only item you would have to hunt would be brownie meat and each one is good for 100 combines. And I wouldn’t be surprised if you could find some for sale in the bazaar.

It really comes down to what you want. If you have plenty of money and aren’t worried about successful combines, and also don’t want to spend time killing green mobs for supplies, then the Misty Picnics may be the way to go. Foraging for plant shoots will take a lot of time but little effort if you’re doing it on a second account. Picnics won’t take a lot of time to get supplies, as most are either store bought or bazaar bought, but the combines themselves will take a lot of effort.

Since your main complaint about hunting supplies seems to be your dislike of farming greens, have you thought about hunting mobs that do give you experience and using those drops for baking skill? Take a look at the PoP recipe page (http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_PoP_baking.htm). There are a number of recipes that can take you to 250 baking. This might not be the fastest rout, but you would also be getting experience so it might not be so bad.

                          Good luck.

                            Ahh, a 62 Wizard...

For eggs go to the basilisk cave with a friend.

                            1. Ensure no one is in the cave for exp.

                            2. Have the friend tag every basilisk in the cave... roughly 20 I think total, usually 3-4 of them genitors.

                            3. AE, loot the genitors, let the rest rot (or loot for a few PP). You'll end up with 10-20 Basilisk eggs... enough for 150-300 clumps of dough, for 5-10 minutes work .

I do agree for the rest though, I'd vendor mine or OOC for the meats in JP, I wouldn't go out there KOS to all the animals and ruin your faction on the ones dumb enough to attack.

I have been using whatever I can get my hands on for baking lately including Cheesy Vegetable Casserole. From about 190 to 215 range, most of my combines have been yielding about 1 skill per stack with 295 wisdom. Some more and some less. It seems I have harder time skilling up with HMP or Picnic then some PoP recipies or Jaggedpine recipies. Just an observation.
