  • Skilling up

OK, so cinnamon sticks are a pain in the @** to get. I noticed that anaconda melts are trivial at over 200 skill (trying to get skill up to make MTP's) but where in all blazes do you find anaconda meat? Is it loot only, and in that case, where? Or can I buy it someplace and again, where?

    Please help

Loot only, jaggedpine zone only, whopping big snakes with lots o hitpoints only.

I occasionally find a few while vendor mining, but not many...

At 34 you may have trouble with the amount of hps they have. I'm gonna guess it's somewhere around 4k considering it takes the same spell casts for those as Ice Giants. The average Hill Giant is somewhere around 2k hps so that should give you some basis for comparison.

If you plan on hunting them, plan on a long evening with a lot of running and a lot of downtime. They're light and dark blue to me at 55 along with the griffons that are fairly common.

It's gonna be tough for you if you choose to do it.

          At 34.. just skip it.

          It isn't worth the risk...

With a 600pt nuke at lvl 44, it took a whole lotta casting and empties a C3'd mana bar. I still don't do them unless really bored at 48 as a Wizard.

The 4k figure seems about right, they have about the same, or slightly more than the Griffons.

The Griffawns may be doable at your level, similar hitpoints to a HG. They do assist, but nothing else there will attack a druid, so you're fairly safe finding Griffawns and hunting them.

Griffon melt also trivials somewhere close to 250.

Don't forget that you can forage and there is another JP item requiring Foraged plant shoots that can also get you to 250.

Forgive me if I am babbling now but the Basilisks are around your level, and great exp in their cave also in JP, the Genitors drop up to 6 Basilisk eggs, or 90 dough off of 1 kill if you're talking baking terms, hehe.

cheesy noodle casserole is a good route to take since you can forage.

You can also do truffles to 202 if you hunt luclin often. I personally found the skillup rate on truffles to be horrible but some people swear by them.

HMP's will get you there and might come in handy if you need cash and don't mind using the bazaar. They're a large investment of time though.

I did truffles finally yesterday. After saving up 287 mushrooms, I had 7 skill ups in the first 200 combines and 4 in the last 62(capped at 202). I bought 90% of the mushrooms in Gukta, at about 100/day when I had time. The biggest delay was getting my hands on the Algae as I was out of town for a few days.

262 attempts=11 skill ups. This was with 189 INT. Not great, but I was VERY HAPPY to hit 200 and even happier to hit 202 on the 5 combines after I hit 200.

Looking at the road to 250, but I have to find some cash first.

God bless truffles. I have gone from 198 - 201 in just 40 attempts. I just need to pull more shroom off another character and finish off that last point now.

Shadow Haven rocks for mushrooms. I seem to pull them about 50% of the time when running around.

You’re just about the right level to start hunting in JP if you like to solo. You could even stay there till level 55 or so if you like. What’s nice about hunting there is the xp is nice and its great for baking. If you forage all the time, I have my foraging key set to my right turn arrow so I’m foraging constantly, you’ll forage plant shoots for one dish that can take you to 250 baking. Plus the griffons and anaconda drop meat that will also take you to 250. If you aren’t in a big hurry then you can gather supplies as you level and gain baking skill as you go.

If you decide to try hunting in JP, I’d suggest staying in wolf form. The griffons, that are aggressive to everyone, aren’t aggressive to you in wolf form. So you don’t have to worry about them until you attack one. The wisps are also good targets. Each one drops a greater light stone, worth 9pp if you do the trade in at the gypsy camp, along with some coins. And later on the anaconda are good targets because they don’t assist each other at all. Just don’t attack the wolves, bears or cats unless you want to drop your faction with the town folk. And whatever you do, stay away from the water. Some nasty mobs live there that you don’t want to mess with yet.

                  Best of luck.

Truffles got me to 202 from 195 (where I thought I was stuck forever).
