I felt the essence of the post was an attempt to share information, and help those that may not of been aware of such a path.

I prefer to judge a post by its spirit myself.

How do people actually move up that **** quickly? I am in the Gulf of Gunthak and have spent hours successfully making Grilled Eels and Crispy Gouramis. I have 40 Eels and 28 Gouramis and I am at 111. In 2 hours of fishing I went up maybe 5 points. Is it that people just buy a few stacks of what they need and make the items? Or am I doing something wrong. Did get the fishing from 101 to 186 in the meantime (increasing faster than the baking)

All Vendor sold, all relatively cheap

              1-135,

              Batwings, Fresh Fish=Fish Rolls

              136-191,

Cheese, Meat (Bear, Wolf, Lion), Bread=Patty Melt

I wouldn't bother, making anything else until 191, IMO.

Actually doing fillets from 135 to 143 will save you a lot of the headache of pattymelts.

filleting knife available from your friendly neigborhood smith, meat sold in shadowhaven as well as a few other locations.

How do you get you faction up to actually buy stuff in Shadowhaven? Almost all the Baking Supply vendors don't like Vah Shir, so I can't buy stuff there!

There's a quest for a faction altering necklace. It starts with Trade Commissioner Henry in a building near the bridge to Paludal Caverns. The quest doesn't take long and is pretty easy.

The most dangerous part is a run through Echo Caverns to Fungus Grove. I've done the quest three times with level 1 characters so I'm pretty sure you can do it

I do the Ore restocking quest. It raises 'Traders of the Haven'.

They are still all apprehensive to me after about 10x on the ore quest, and wont give me best price til approx 150 cha, in PoK it is closer to 125. A bit annoying because SH is now the only place in the game I have to carry Cha equip for .

The dwarf that sells soda wont sell to me still, but she is dubious. Anyone know what faction she is on? I've gotten used to porting to PoK to get my soda, but I am always curious why she doesn't like me

Run the "Register for trading" quest , from Trade Commish Henry, about 10 times, then you will more then likely be at amiably with all factions involved.

Heck, if you JUST deal with Traders of the Haven, then just do Stetons Delivers about 10 times.

That seems to depend on something (race? religion?). I've done the Trade Commish run at *least* 10 times on my Dwarf Warrior, and he still has to put on the neck piece to get to indifferent. I think it took 10 times before I could buy/sell without wearing the jewelry.

                            Too easy Lilosh, too easy.

I have been going to find unrefined ore, and turning it in for faction. Boosts must not be as good for it not to have budged from apprehensive.

I guess I'll do the errand boy thingie

I am actually enjoying finding the ore on vendors for 9pp, combining 4, and getting faction and 44pp for 8pp profit for my time, hehehe.

Someday I'll need that ore I am sure, if I ever plan to raise smithing, but for now I just hope people are glad the gnome in Bazaar always has ore.

Edit: There are no Loc's on the walkthrough on this site I found at:

                            http://www.eqtraders.com/quests/luclin_shadowhaventrading.htm

Since I've only been to Fungus Grove 1 time, and I know how big SH and Bazaar are, does someone have that quest linked with the Locs?

                            Thanks

I don’t have any LOC numbers to give, but I can try to give directions for the Trade Commissioner Henry quest from memory. But I can’t promise they’re 100% accurate.

Find Trade Commissioner Henry in a building next to the bridge to Paludal Caverns. Hail him and do the required dialog. He’ll give you a message to deliver to a human male NPC trader in the Bazaar. He’s located in the center vendor building. He is NOT standing behind a counter. Give him the item and he’ll give you an item to return to the Commissioner. The Commissioner will then give you a book to give to another NPC vendor, a book on how to be a successful trader. This is the only dangerous part of the quest. If you can get SoW, it will make things go faster but you don’t have to have it. Some form of invisibility would prove very handy as well. But you may not have to have it. I had it on so I can’t say for sure if you will get the attention of the two mobs you have to run past or not if you don’t have invisibility up.

Enter the room next to the soul binder in Shadow Haven; she stands by the large pool of water. There is an illusionary wall in this room. Run through the wall and run strait through the next wall that is also an illusion. Fallow the tunnel and you will soon zone. Now run past the guards and to the left. You’ll see a corridor to your right; follow that to the double doors. Click on the doors and they will slide open. This room may have two aliens on both your right and left sides. The ones on your left are far enough away that you don’t have to worry about them. But if you don’t have invis up you may need to watch out for the two on your right. However, these are often camped so you may not have to worry about them. Once past these you should see a corridor to your right. This is the way you want to go, but be careful of the plants. They are animated, but you cannot target them. If you get too close they will root you and possibly kill you if you are low enough level. If you are aware of them they are easily avoided, as they never move.

Once you’ve gone right after the aliens, you’ll quickly have to turn either right or left. You want to go left and start wading through the water, or swimming depending on how tall you are. This corridor does not branch. Just avoid the plants and you will eventually see a line of rocks across the water. This is the zone line. Once you zone your almost there. The corridor will lead you out of the water and into the outpost where your vendor is. Keep going strait and pass the first building. The vendor is in either the second or third building on your left. Go in the building and hail him. His dialog is rather amusing. Give him the book and he’ll give you something to return to the Commissioner. Make the run back, return the item to the Commissioner and you’ll get your necklace.

When I did this quest with my Vah Shir shaman, the vendors in the short section of town were still dubious but would sell to him without the necklace and they were indifferent to him with it on. However, my shaman was already ally with many of the vendors in the good sections of SH due to another faction quest, so that may have had a minor effect on the other factions as well.

Here’s the link to the quest from Allakhazam: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=1449

The quest I used to get to ally faction with the good section of SH is very easy but rather tedious. It starts with a barbarian herb vendor two doors down from the soul binder. Tell him: will make a trip to the bazaar. He will give you some Assorted Tailoring Supplies. These look like a sewing kit, but it’s not a container. Take the supplies to a male gnome in the bazaar. He stands against the wall directly behind the bank from the SH zone. Give him the supplies and you get positive faction hits. But be careful. If you have a sewing kit, don’t get confused and give him that. I don’t think he will take it any longer, but before that patch I had a friend lose her sewing kit and everything in it that way. Now tell him: I will take the gems. He will give you a small bag of gems, also not a container. Take the gems back to the barbarian and get more positive faction hits. Repeating this over and over will get you ally faction with many of the vendors in SH. Obviously, if you have SoW this goes a lot faster. You can also bind and gate to cut down on half the running. Here’s a link to the quest: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=1534

Both these quests are easy and very much worth doing if you spend much time in Shadow Haven.
