Ah, you see, this is where our views differ.
If there are 1000 pies for sale and I have just made 200 skilling up and need space/money to continue, then of course I'm going to drop the price to offload them. To me it's simple economics, what I don't want is a mule sat there full of pies for the next six months when I'm doing my ****dest to get to (enter desired skill level here) in baking.
I don't blame the people, they are reacting to standard supply and demand. As long as pies and picnics remain in their current state where the ingredients are cheap and the farming involved can be done by a lvl 12 druid, they will remain the skill-up ingredient of choice. Yes, the clicking is a nightmare but you can get the bits, you will get successes as low as 180, and on top of it all you get a result that has the best generic stats of the game.
Quite frankly, people trying to get baking up would be silly to make something else (unless they have access to high-tier pop plane drops) and would be foolish not to drop the price to offload the hundreds or even thousands they are making (see above comment re: high yield).
