  • wolf meat

Ok I'm at my wits end here. I'm trying to make some HMP but can't find the )&#%($ wolf meat. So far I have umm looked in EC, WC, Nro, Sro, GD and Teneb Mts. I know I have to be missing something here. There has to be a spot that has a decent drop rate for these thigns. They can't be thaaaat rare, can they?

thanks for any info you can provide

Misty Thicket, got stacks there vendor farming (although with the patch yesterday you'll need to give it a couple of days) and they wander around most of the zone.

EC should be good ... Everfrost too (can get mammoth at the same time

Remember, for every 1 wolf meat, you get 10 wolf fillets, so it really won't take too terribly long to get enough for a good run of HMPs!

I'll second EK, practically every gorge hound drops at least one either "Chunk of Meat" or Wolf Meat, usually one of each, and sometimes more. There are usually at least a dozen, sometimes more, of them wandering the zone, including a steady stream near the gorge that leads to the Gorge of King Xorbb zone.

(I levelled up a wood elf druid for several levels here, and have all the wolf meat I'll ever use, given the 10-to-1 yield on the fillets...)

if you have a 600+ pbaoe or a friend with one, gather up 30 mobs of any kind, and AoE them in EK. This will make for some fast repops. Druid, wizard, cleric, mage 50+ should all work )

Upheavel is your friend, when I farm for tradeskilling I pull everything in this zone that I can, up to 25 mobs(25+ = too many interruptions, especially from spiders) hit the gem and have lots of looting to do, I recommend trying to get a spell haste 3 item(i'd give a leg for it) I have enough plat to buy the jade reaver for my epic, but i'm saving up to get the frostreaver cloak ~30-35k on my server anyway good luck on the wolf meat, the bottle neck for me was always mammoth meat, so I started MTPs at 207 and didn't look back

I’ll add my vote for East Karana. I’ve been playing a shaman alt I started back when Luclin was first released. I was leveling fairly quickly killing gorge hounds and dark stalkers in EK. He now has about five stacks of wolf meat in the bank to pass onto my druid.

One thing I’ve noticed when hunting in EK is that just about everything seems to be on the same spawn table. I’ve read for ages that if the spiders are few in number that you should kill the snakes. Well, as I kept killing the dogs I found fewer and fewer of them to kill, but there were a ton of spider wondering around. When players showed up to kill the spiders, gorge hounds started popping up everywhere. A shame almost all the doggies turned LB to me at 23. EK was a great place to level. I could have stayed and killed the crag spiders, but as a shaman I don’t have tracking and I just couldn’t compete with all the farmers.

Try vendors in G-Fay, esp. a the day after a patch. Usually the guild vendors (Ranger, Bard, War., and surprisingly Druid) will have some as folks sell things to buy spells and supplies from friendly merchants. Also, the merchants directly beside or close to the lifts will have a few pieces. Doesn't take long to mine a couple of stacks.
