  • Force feeding

Do you find that force feeding damages the market for your goods? I recently took baking past 200 (my 2nd skill up there), and yesterday in the bazaar, 8 people bought only 1 item each.

Do you find this the case, or are people on Morell-Thule just cheap?

Wouldn't it be nice if force-feeding prevented you from getting that stat bonuses until you're hungry again. Personally, I get the satisfaction from seeing that Thanksgiving turkey sitting on the table, while I sit back munch on stale bread. Of course, I choke it down because I chase it with 3 gallons of water!

That wouldn't be nice at all...

It would lower sales for 2 reasons.

First, people that are full would buy from you, put it in their main slot... and being full see no resulting stat boost.

Second, while some people will spend 60pp buying 3 expensive meals, in case they accidentially eat one etc. There are much fewer people who would buy a stack at 400pp so they could eat it... so even though people are only buying 1 or 2, the alternative is fewer people buying.

        -------

The only thing I can think of would be to not get the stat unless you force feed the Stat food, and it wears off in 3 hours, like a buff.... I'd actually prefer this method for my monk, who can't carry around a HMP, but would gladly force one down before heading out to battle.

No, it wouldn't be nice. In the first place, what determines hungry? About to eat? Then you wouldn't ever get that bonus. Second, the ability to force feed to avoid eating your stat food is a selling point. After all, you can point out the cost value versus the equivalent stats on, say, a range slot item, and that by force feeding/drinking you can stretch out how long it lasts. The only other option would be that eating the food item gives you the stats, and it last x amount of time. And unless food/drink items bottom out, I think you would find a net reduction in customers.

Confucia say: A watched Trader never sales.

                Also, advertising helps.

Yes, put those 2 together, hehehehe

simple solution, sell food that they can force feed. Pattimelts work great for forcefeeding.

so you sell 1-2 HMP or MTp, but you allso sell a stack of pattimelts with it.

sir0die whatcha doin' sellin' patty melts?

I'd go back to Fish Rolls after you trivial them, fish rolls sell faster, and people will pay more than they will for Patty melts... I've tested this by mistake, hehehe

This is a great idea, but definitely an inefficient use of time. I am focusing on non-trivial combines. Once I get to GM baking, I will mostly be supplying my guild with food. Selling in the bazaar isn't really my goal.

I enjoy tradeskills, but I like to supply top of the line items to my customers. Some people like to make HMP/MTP, but it's just not my thing. I prefer the pop recipes, especially hitting PoWater like we've been.

I sell MTP's mainly, and I sell either a stack or 1, nver a totlal between.

well, i don't SELL patti melts. Like Panamon, i supply alot of the food to fellow guildmates, everyone likes the patimelts. Since they bring me cheese often, i whip up a couple of stacks for them.

I guess fish rolls would be cheaper.

I don't know, i know they are both just as filling as eachother, but the pattimelt LOOKS like a meal, the fish rolls look more like a snack. beside, me personally, i'm a meat eater, my toon is a barbarian, so i'd rather have something with meat in it, not fish.

it's a shame there aren't potatos to use. Give me a big ol' steak and potato meal.
