  • Success in spit compared to oven

    Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone had noticed if there was a difference in success rates when items are combined in a spit versus an oven. I seem to remeber way back when I was making fish rolls having a feeling that I was having a worse sucess rate when I started making them in a spit. Since all of my non-trivial combines recently have been on Halas pies and Misty Thicket Picnicks I of course have been forced to use an oven, but I am still curious about this. Has anyone noticed any difference?

My question has been rekindled in my mind because I am curretnly 236 and I am attempting to make the run to 240 tonight so that with a geerlok I max out my chances on my trophy. I will make the combine in an oven just to be safe, but I am still curious. I am really excited / nervous, because I only have one artisan's seal that was given to me and I really dont have the resources to purchase another one should I fail.

Well, I hit 240 and made the attempt at the trophy, but I lacked the skills. /sigh.

I have quite a stockpile of picnics, enough that if i ever sold them all i would be able to buy another seal or two, but for the most part they seem to sell slowly. Most people will only buy 4 or less at a time (never should have taught them that force feeding other food trick). Its nice when i sell those 4, but when I have like 900 of them it doesnt really put a dent in the stockpile. I guess that I will just sit my baker in trader for the next couple of days until i scrounge up a few more thousand plat.

Simple - make two identical toons and have one skill up on fish fillets in an oven and then have the other skill up in the same exact zone sitting next to the oven using a spit.

Having the ability to finally use the collapsible spit to do some baking last night, I kind of felt that I was failing more than I normally do.

          Failed 5/13 Stir Fry
Failed 1/14 Hero Sandwiches and one failure on sub combine!
No Failures on 6 Mephit Meat Pies.

It's really too small a number to tell yet, but I rarely have that many failures on Stir Fry so I was umm.... a bit upset!

Had VOQ, 250 baking skill and 5% mod if it makes a difference, so pretty much the same as when I bake in town.
