Nest Drake Meat and Intestines

I find myself finally drawn back into the world of tradeskills. It was inevitable I suppose, but I have finally cleared out enough room in my bank/bags to work on topping out baking.

So, while working on my trophy I find myself in need of Nest Drake Meat and Drake Intestines. In theory they drop from drakes in Stillmoon. That would probably be the easiest place for a 75 necro to get them, but a short foray today and further research says that they aren't gonna drop off the easy to pick off ones in the courtyard.

Where is the best place to get these drops? I don't need to skill off of them, I just need to get enough to finish the trophy recipes. Nest? Ascent? Is there a place in any of the zones where they drop that they seem to drop more?

Any suggestions to make this simpler would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Seems to drop off instanced zones like Creator missions. Also check the DoN merchants in Lavastorm, I've found a couple there before. There are a total of 4 vendors in lavastorm, one at port ring, one near Naga's lair, one at good camp, and one at evil camp.

Or you could just try bazaar. Look for both drake intestine and sausage casting.

don't forget the gypsy camp either.

The merchants at the gypsy camp seem to respawn periodically ... I think it's once an hour or so. So you have to be very lucky indeed to find them up and with something player-sold on them, let alone something worth buying.

Well, camping the bazaar paid off for the intestines. Now I just need Nest Drake Meat.

Before I just go flailing about, does anyone have a suggestion for a mission that is relatively easy, but has lots of drakes in it? Does anyone remember seeing some drop and where? I checked the various vendors in Lavastorm (good idea btw, I hadn't even thought of that) and no luck, and the bazaar isn't giving me much luck either. (side note on drake intestines, I know they are hard to get, but 3k each?!? I detest predatory pricing like that)

It can and does drop in the non-instanced Thundercrest zone - the area that is to the west (it's also used for the Creator mission) has about 10 drakes that can be pulled while only killing a couple of other mobs (2 statues). I used this area to get the "kill 120" part of a GM symbol quest last week, and I got 2 in the process. (So, definitely not COMMON, but does drop).

CT server is the reverse of what you describe. I have seen Nest Drake Meat for as low as 200-300pp and Drake Intestines I have not seen below 4k for over a month, but it is the same guy selling 1-2 for that time. Since it is slightly dated content now, the flow of it into the market has cut back.

I just returned to EQ after 3 years, so I am trying to catch up.

I looked in bazaar for these items and the meat was 50K! and the intestines were 3K-5K.

Have prices changed that much?

I have killed for a few hours at zone in of thundercrest (solo) but no luck so far on meat.

I just got one from helping a friend in stillmoon who has returned from the game after leaving during PoP. Yeah!! so they do drop there.

If you're on Maelin - hit me up. I think I've got about 80 or 90 intestines on my baking mule.

I did the Origins of the Curse mission not long ago and got 1 intestine and 2 meats.

They also both drop in the non-instanced Lavaspinner's Lair zone. Not often, but they are there.
