  • Drakkins and Dragonmeat...

Okay - so, I roleplay on Firiona Vie, and Sanjah is a Drakkin druid. She's quite proud of her heritage and the fact that she is dragonkin - but many of the nicer recipes are only available using dragon-meat, which to her would be quite cannibalistic.

I was just curious if there was any way, maybe in the future, that the lovely devs could put in an alternate meat source for things like the Dinner Gift Basket, Dinner Feast and such. She was quite disappointed upon finding out that she wouldn't be able to cook the delicious feast for the dinner party that she and her guildmates are planning.

So - just a minor suggestion, to help with those who are still quite attached to the lore. Many of the easier recipes are able to be created with bear, wolf, snake, etc meats... perhaps it wouldn't be too difficult to make an alternate type of meat for the more laborious ones?

    Thanks in advance! *beams*

I was just wondering if there were any other thoughts on this? Or if it's even plausible for a few optional meats could be put in for these recipes? It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult... especially if you use a meat that's already in the game. And there are plenty of high level mobs that aren't dragonkin that you could use, I think....

Dragons kill each other, so just consider that the meat you got was from a "bad" dragon (or good I guess depending on alignmnet).

Not sure why it would be going against roleplaying for a Drakkin to use Dragon meat? You're not a dragon, you're a human just infused with their blood. Now if it was a Drakkin that required drakkin parts, that would be a different issue...

Well, Sanjah is very prideful of the fact that she's a drakkin. And the drakkin are called dragonkin all throughout the books and things in Crescent Reach... so, I would be under the assumption that Drakkin are to Dragons as High Elves are to Wood Elves.

She's a bit of a dragon-**** anyway... she's very adamant about not killing other dragons (no matter if they're good or bad) and she's been in a few heated discussions on the matter.

But, I know a lot of the drakkin on FV are under the same assumption that I am... we might not be completely the same creatures as the rest of dragonkind, but we were created to carry on Veeshan's bloodline and help bring the dragonkin back from the fear of extinction. Thus, it would be horribly out of character I think to use any sort of dragonmeat in a recipe. It really doesn't even have so much to do with *killing* the dragons as it does the slight twinge of cannabilism in eating dragon steaks and such.

Such is the price of roleplaying. If your choice is to roleplay no dragon, then you will be stuck with the consequnces. You will just have to hang in there keep living with the ban. There is an old thread here about a roleplaying monk that chose to be totally vegiterian and still wanted to work baking. At least there are many more options available now than there used to be.
