put searches on hold for a bit-
Ngreth needs to check his PM's- the recipe might need a fix.

Work on the beans instead. (GRIN)

Mr Broodder Misinterpreted something (I gave him data in a very poor format because I was short on time to re-format it)

I now see the item on this thread

Is the NPC text going to change to include blood. Perhaps posting that would help without providing any addtional hints.

Does that mean you saw it in a post that appeared after you posted you hadn't? or you double checked and saw it was in fact listed previously?!

                Whistles noncommittally. (ok after)

                  hint?

I wonder if it's safe to assume that this recipe follows the same format as all previous Sausage recipies:

                  X +Coarse salt + Fennel + Ground Pepper + Onion + Sausage Casing = Final product

                  X = Y + Z

                  Ex::: Tuna Sausage - X = Grilled Tuna Meat, Y = Tuna Meat, Z = Grilling sauce.

So in the text we have mention of 3 ingredients which don't belong in the normal Sausage recipe: Lard, Butter, Cream

Perhaps we need to make a "Z" out of the Lard, Butter, and Cream and prepare our "Y" with it to get "X"

I'm gunna go play with this theory a bit and return if i find something.

Could we maybe get a small hint not on the topic of the blood type? The text indicates putting a hole in the sausage casing. Are we indeed preparing the sausage casing differently, or is it the same ol' Drake Intestine sausage we're used to using?

                    maybe the spice is:
                    - Bongo's Hot Chili Spice
                    - Hot Red Pepper
                    - Habanero Pepper
                    - Ground Pepper

thie "If you like it spicier, simply add more spices" makes me think that maybe there are 2 versions of the sausage:
                    - spicy sausage
                    - very spice sausage

and that the "hot spice" is Bongo's Hot Chili Spice

Ran around tonight, picked up Blood Spirit and Planar Blood Brew.
Neither are tradeskill marked, but I tried each of them in the following combinations just in case:

[blood] + lard + cream + butter in mixing bowl
[blood] + lard + cream + butter in tanaan oven
[blood] + lard + cream + butter + onion + ground pepper + sausage casing + coarse salt + fennel in taanan oven

I thought about trying to Y+Z approach to obtain a meat product, but I can't get lard + cream + butter to combine into a sauce in a mixing bowl or a brew barrel.

It also occured to me that the sauce might be cream + butter + blood and then added to the lard, since lard is sort of a meat product (in a far fetched sense, anyway) ... but again, couldn't get those to combine in a mixing bowl or a brew barrel with either Blood Spirits or Planar Blood Brew.

Now, I'll grant you that these were both longshots once they weren't tradeskill marked but when you hunt your way through the Nightmare Mephit Caves and then go to the top of Mistmoore Castle -- well, a few extra combines doesn't seem like much. *grins*

And I thought Blood Spirits would be such a promising idea... a dwarvish explorer would certainly be familiar with Mistmoore, no?

                      Oh well, back to hunting!
I'm planning to try the brewed items (Bleeding Brain & Bleeding Kromzek) which both *sound* cannibalistic but really are just clever little alcoholic drinks. Those sneaky Coldain dwarves...

In retrospect thats probably much wiser (and easier) than going into the midlde of the Plane of Nightmare to look, isn't it? Well, no one ever said I was the brightest at 2 am!

                      Cheers,
                      Ashwith

Edit: Bleeding Kromzek is not tradeskill marked, either. Nor does it work in the combine formulas listed above.
Bleeding Brain requires Vodka and it's definitely too late for me to go find fire beetle eyes tonight. Tomorrow!

well from the fact that said sausage came in with TSS me thinks that said blood is preTSS having it not previously been used in tradeskills.

                          Things I tried

                          Onion+Fileting Knife in Oven/Mixing bowl - DNC

Onion, Lard, Butter, Cream, Spices, Coarse Salt, Ground Pepper +
                          Bleeding Brain
                          Bleeding Kromzek
                          Bleeding Brain + Sausage Casing
                          Bleeding Kromzek + Sausage Casing

                          All DNC

I'm going to try to get my hands on the stuff for a Planar Blood Brew so I can try a few different things (Blood Spirit too if I can). I couldn't find Feydrake Blood, Pod of Blood, Blood of the Dragonkind or Blood of the Royals on Alla's. The only other one that's in the second half of this thread is the Blood Thirsty Rat Hide which I'm inclined to discount for numerous reasons but mostly because it is Lore.

                              Now I've done these combinations:

[blood] + lard + cream + butter in mixing bowl
[blood] + lard + cream + butter in tanaan oven
[blood] + lard + cream + butter + onion + ground pepper + sausage casing + coarse salt + fennel in taanan oven

With the following in place of [blood]:
Blood Spirits (all 3 tries DNC)
Bleeding Brain (all 3 tries DNC)
Planar Blood Brew (all 3 tries DNC)

                              Of note:
All three of these [blood] types are missing the tag line 'This item can be used in tradeskills.' so it seems likely that none of them are the appropriate blood. I'm inclined to believe that the blood (when found) will say it can be used in tradeskills, so I'm still going to try that road.

I also did try various combinations with rock salt and spices instead of the fennel, but I wasn't scientifically precise about making sure I covered all of them in sequence, so I'm not going to list those tries here. Back to the drawing board...

                              Cheers,
                              Ashwith

                                Mmm, right.
So I'm leaning toward the "Pod of Blood" myself but I have no idea where to look for it -- I imagine Prophecy of Ro or Depths of Darkhollow -- those are the expansions with which I am the least familiar.

                                But where...
                                Hrm.
I can port to Theater of Blood and get myself seriously killed looking or fishing there. The thing is Psilocybe of Blood is the foraged bit there, so unless something was missed on the fishing table here, then it doesn't seem likely that it came from ToB. Similarly, while Dreadspire is rather vampiric, I expect its a fast place for me to die. I'm also inherently suspicious that the very first book would be requiring recipes from raid zones.

                                Hrm. HRM!
                                Yup, back to thinking.
