  • Turepta Liver

Just curious if Im having bad luck or if this is standard but after clearing all of the turepta in natimbi 4 times and the 3 in ferubi 10 or 11 times I couldnt get one of these to drop. Not sure if it is broken on my server or what but I got the mage 1.5 piece 3 times and succulent turepta meat 4 or 5 times and no liver. Getting the sea dragon meat was easier. Is this normal?

Yes it seems to be quite rare, I had to do several clearings of the turtles in natimbi to finally see one drop. Just keep at it you will eventually get one. Also, check the merchants around natimbi, might just have it sometimes.

There is also a discussion on this on the "Drake Intestines" thread just slightly below, for more insight

Its just one of the more rare parts of the recipe. Your best bet is to just keep killing the turtles in natimbi everytime they spawn. If your luck is bad take a break and farm another component and come back to them.

They seem to drop ok in the instanced zones.

          Which mobs, in which instances?

I too had a horrible time getting a Turepta Liver -- killed 160 before I got one, got another after another 40 or so.

Sewers of Nihil I would imagine but Allas didn't list them as dropping the stuff so I never bothered. I might try that later on.

The livers are just rare rare. Gotta keep at it. From farming them for a day, my droprate averaged 1 liver per 55 tureptas. This farming involved killing the 11 in Natimbi, popping to Ferubi to kill the 3 there, then back to Natimbi before respawn. Respawns roughly 18-20 minutes in both zones, so hitting both zones gives you 42 tureptas per hour. Porters 4tw!

Thank goodness you only need one for the combine, eh?

You really ran back and forth from the middle of Ferubi? There are always enough See Invis mobs in there whenever I've gone into there to make that trip far from trivial -- unless of course you happen to be a Rogue with SoS...

There are a couple of key things to making it work.

First you need a porter to zip you back and forth between Natimbi and Barindu.

Start in Barindu, zone into Ferubi from there. Invis as far as you can, and kill any see invis guy you run into along the way, then invis up, lather, rinse, repeat.

Kill the 3 turpetas in the canal, port to Natimbi, kill the 11 turepta's there. Port back to Barindu. If you're lucky, the respawn won't see invis, and you can run straight to the canals. If not, repeat the invis as far as you can, kill any see invis, lather, rinse, repeat. I got it to the point where there was nothing that saw invis from the barindu/ferubi zone line to the canals. Then the run back and forth is easy with the porter.

Of course, near the end, some group came in to Ferubi to kill stuff for the cleric epic drops. fie on them!

Farmed the natimbi tureptas for a few hours a few days ago. Nothing, nothing, nothing for a while then within 20 minutes I got 2. I decided after that Id stop there and work on some of the other parts. Think the rarity of this particular piece needs to be looked into. Don't need it to be too common but it should drop a little more often I think.

I typically get one or two a day... and only kill about a dozen Turpetas.

I mainly go there to solo the undead with my Paladin.

Killed them for six hours and got 3 in the last 30 minutes. Guess 1 every 2 hours isnt terrible, but I agree I think this needs to be looked into. There is already items that makes this a difficult combine. Perhaps 1 per hour?

Camped 8h with trackmule in natimbi - killing the 7 spawns near zi - 1 drop.
Luckily got 2 from a guildmate who has read my post in guildforum and picked them up on a trader.
Getting the camp is a pain - family guilds use this camp to expe lvl and they very fast realized the bazaar value of the liver - it's 10-20 k on AB.
