Very disappointed that recipie such as Bristlebanes Party Platter only yielded 3% with 40 combines. Small sample I know, but indicative that it would takke 1000+ such combines to max it, when I had expected that to be one of the recipies that only took around 400.

But then, the Party Platter actually has a lower trivial than the Misty Thicket Picnic... so you're just better off doing MistysAngelsyn Whitewings, Cleric of Tunare for 66!Seasons.

What I mean by per skill.
Baking vs. Smithing vs. Fletching... not
combine MTP vs. BPP. vs Hobgoblin Suprise
It doesn't matter WHAT you make in baking. It is going to take the same number (~1100) successes to level the trophy. The higher the trivials, the faster it will go.Shawlweaver Sphynx on Cazic Thule

Also, I'm about 50% through my baking trophy at the moment (making MTPs). I am getting 1% every 10 successes...no variance. That suggests 1000 successes exactly, not 1100. Just my experience.Last edited by Twistagain; 02-28-2006, 09:23 AM.

I don't know why there's variation but I'm getting 1% on master baking trophy for every 11 successful MTP combines. I should be getting 1100 total combine and there's a few posts here and there from 1040 to 1140 on baking trophy.
Is there anything else that can influence the rate of the skillup or what?
I have my log on so I can hand count the total combines and total success to get my baking trophy to level 7

Has anyone tried Karana Heartfruit Salad to skill up the baking trophy with?
I'm wary of the different yields and multiple subcombines of the MTP.

Ok... gonna try this 1 more time.
Baking is considered primarily a vendor purchased tradeskill. Like jewelrycraft and brewing. Therefore, it will take 1000-1100 combines to level the trophy from 6 ->7. The variation in in that last 100 is based on the trivial of the combines you are doing. The difference between 400 combines to evolve versus the 1000 to evolve is what I mean by it doesn't matter what you bake. It is going to take a lot more combines than the "dropped" tradeskill rates. There is a cap at 350 ,IE, a 400 trivial combine gives the same exp to the trophy as a 350. Anything below that, (remember we have to be above 300) gives that amount, the trivial, of experience to the trophy. I have been posting my progress on my trophy, stuck at 89%, and got sidetracked with raiding and other baking adventures. Feel free to post your results and be as thorough as you like. If you made a food with a 350 trivial, I believe it would be 1000 successes. Making MTPs will take a bit longer as it is only a 335 trivial, maybe 100 more. If you tried to do it on BPPs it would possibly take a bit longer. Still even longer if you use Karana's Heartfruit.
Now, compare to fletching or tailoring. These tradeskills will only take ~400 350+ successes to level to 7. This was done by Ngreth to balance the tradeskills with more difficult to obtain parts with those easily obtained. I am not sure, but I think smithing is also in this category.
As a note, these runs are also helping us get some more data on the 5% random failure rate on trivial combines as the level 6 baking trophy gives you a 336 adjusted skill making ALL known recipes in the trivial range.Last edited by Aldier; 02-28-2006, 01:52 PM.Shawlweaver Sphynx on Cazic Thule

This is a small set of combines I know but its all I had atm.
Started at 0% (fresh trophy no combines)
11 MTPs ~> tick to 1%
10 MTPs ~> tick to 2%
11 BPPs ~> tick to 3%
12 KHSs ~> tick to 4%
10 BPPs ~> tick to 5%
11 MTPs ~> tick to 6%
11 BPPs ~> tick to 7%
10 MTPs ~> tick to 8%
Seems to me the difference between 322 trivial and 335 trivial is rather small and the difference between 308 and 335 isn't all that much bigger.Oriaas Farslayer

Just thought to add...I failed nothing the whole way through (most subs were already done mind you) except 2 MTPs which were #7 and 9 in the final block. Salvaged 5 items between the 2 failures (3 on first 2 on second).Oriaas Farslayer

Did a few more blocks. Only change was I upped wisdom to 365 from 353. I thought (well not really) that might cause a variance in the % per combine.
11 MTPs ~> tick to 9%
9 MTPs ~> tick to 10% (failed combine #5 salvaged 4 items)
11 MTPs ~> tick to 11%
10 MTPs ~> tick to 12%
3 MTPs + 7 BPPs ~> tick to 13%Oriaas Farslayer
