seem to be haveing a problem finding any. Mobs from takish Hiz drop hides lq,hq,mq. hooves tails and manes but from what i have seen in my groups(there to farm the fleshless horsies they are all skin and bones. Could someone please start feeding them?

Anyone else have any luck? I killed maybe 20 of them between treants, nothing but hides, manes, and hooves so far for me. I heard something about the Pegasus in Elddar dropping them but haven't examined yet since I have a feeling I can't 2 box them.

If I could just find one I could start messing around with the meat challenge combines.

The Pegasus mobs in Elddar are white cons mostly with occasional yellow, the Unicorns are red cons with occasional yellow... and I can only just about 3-box the Pegasus atm.

Best spot I found was in elddar forest, over on the west wall, just north of the souther entrance into the giant area, there is a little cubby behind a huge tree (you can actually go the whole way around it, just looks like a wall on the map). There are 2 yellow/red unicorns that spawn there, one usually wanders around, the other generally stays static on the far side of the tree.

Boxing a 70 cleric and 70 warrior (~10700 unbuffed), I was able to kill the two of them, and usually an extra mob waiting for respawns (I pulled giants since nothing assists them, so I didn't have to worry about the pull or pushing them into a pegasus spawning. Pull up onto the hill in the back to be out of range of adds safely. With any kind of DPS its easer, with slow they're cake. I had a Shaman, then a full group, then a ranger using his epic to slow them.

In ~6 hours I got 3 meat, 1 HQ skin, 3 MQ skin, 2 LQ skins and 2 hooves.

My Husband has killed between 300 & 500 of the Tak horses in his spare timer getting hides and hooves for me. Not one meat dropped in all that time.

Thanks Queletan, I have a 10.1k unbuffed monk, 70 shm and 70 druid (+67 cleric too if really necessary) so I'll have a go there tonight. Any Procs/AEs on the Unicorns? The Pegasi have a DD that lands quite a lot, was quite annoying.

Are there any faction hits for killing the unicorns and pegasi in Eldaar? Just curious.

The unicorns DO have a proc 1000 point DD (part of why slow really helps). With that trio you shouldn't have a problem at all.

The only faction hits I saw (I think I've killed everything but the little fairy thingies, the elves and the orcs) were from the Giants: negative with them, positive with elves, and what I presume to be the orcs.

The Trees (large and small) are random casters: AE root/DD/Dot
The cats Proc ~600 + stun
                      The bears proc ~600
                      The snakes proc ~500DD+Dot

Neither Pegasi or Unicorns summon (barring named). Everything assists them. There is a 5 pop of pegasi (pegasus's?) in the northern part of the zone. Solo as a 70 ranger w/1250 AA, C3 and 20ft I could kill 3 and med a sec before repop. Added a necro friend and things sped up considerably and we pulled some trash in between. If you nose along the north wall you can find a kite run that pathers seem to avoid (one of the pegasus pops there though). Killed maybe 20 with only 2 corpses having anything at all, a CDD and a peridot.

We also tried the Unicorns but a named was up and we only killed one before our kite spot was overrun with pathers. I am curious where folks are killing these at to avoid that = )

Of note, everything seems to have a spell like everything else in PoR, often a dd/stun, but range is low. I was able to root/rot/shoot solo and stay oor and generally stay far enuogh ahead kiting to avoid it.

I usually kite the unicorns on the raised area back towards the city - it's a long pull, but you can usually manage it with no adds if you're careful, and nothing much roams up there.

If you are speaking about the pond area where the unicorns are in a circle, it's pretty easy to avoid adds. If you are looking towards the wall of the zone with the pond in front of you, camp in the back right wall area. The only thing that paths through that location are 2 of the sylphs (lot easier then unicorns, but they AE silence that can affect lower-geared toons). I generally kill the 2 sylphs, clear the pond, and wait for the sylphs to pop again. Playing my pally and boxing my shammy and druid, I can clear the entire pond just in time for the respawns. Without using harmony or anything, I can single pull that entire pond with my pally without getting adds. Every once in awhile I get too far from a pull and the unicorns path differently - those are the only times I get an occasional wolf add. I generally get 1 horse meat on average per 1.5 times cleared.

FYI - The named unicorn does pop near the camp spot and does seem to have a larger aggro radius then the regular unicorns, so watch out !

Thanks for the reply = ) Going to drag a semi orthodox group there tonight I think. There were just 2 or 3 of us kiting last night and this morning so we used the entire east wall along the pond. There is enough room to kite past the named Uni. I owe my necro friend big, he played with the kiting a little before I got on, then in ~2 hours I got 3 horse meats. We had another friends 68 druid alt with us for a while, so while he was there I just tanked the irksome sylphs and procced slow, so the casters could stand out of the ae silence. Max hit on me (ranger) with ~2100ac/5% shielding was 1219, had a couple sketchy moments before slow landed a couple times, but with a cleric (or even cleric buffs) would have been cake. Silence seemed to bounce semi often at 400-ish mr.

On tribunal 2 people have horse meat in the bazaar at 45k a piece. It is not worth that, at the risk of losing my spot I encourage people to farm their own. XP is pretty good, there are names all over albeit most of the drops are mediocre, and the meat is not that uncommon.
