  • Dragon Mayonnaise

Ngreth, can you take a look at the Dragon Mayonnaise recipe.

I put a dragon egg oil (crafted with brewing) with my dairy spoon in the mixing bowl and hit combine.

Failed.. got both spoon and dragon egg oil back.
    Repeated 5 times... all failing...
6th time.. it succeeded and gave me the dragon mayo. Is it supposed to be a no fail combine? for a trivial of 20?

just noticed that too, must have been lucky with the first one I made.

I would hazard a guess and say its intentional... the recipie says something about "beating it several times" or something like that.. so it could be thats just the way they did it to make it seem like you were whisking it repeatedly

        This is intentional

To emulate the need for long vigorous stirring to get mayo.

Is it a constant number of combines to finally result in the mayo? Seemed to be about 2-5 times, never counted but didn't seem constant.

and it of course gives you both back because you cant REALLY fail at making mayo. If you lose your emulsion you just start a new one and add the failed emulsion to it slowly like you did the oil the first time.

mayo should have an egg in it as well as oil.

Yes, the recipe has oil made from an egg. But RL mayo has oil added to egg.

Is it possible to get oild from an egg anyway?

magic, people. this is magic mayo! in a world where snakes kick, animals carry money, and tear the pages from books and then carry them around somewhere on their bodies... why o why would things in norrath be made just like things on earth are made?

Also in EQ we have snakes who can *kick* or a cat who can walk upright and talk.

While most part of EQ tries to be as realistic as possible there are certain things that must give away in order to make it work well or to make it fun.

This is an example of when a programmer/designer thinks something is clever, but it really isn't. It falls into the category of it is only cute once, just like splash pages on websites. Being a programmer myself I have been guilty of such acts too. So I can relate to having an idea that you think is really cool that the customer ends up hating. 80% fail rate on something with a trivial of 20 is ridiculous.

I just made a stack of the stuff if you are wondering why the hate.
