  • This whole series of camps and combines for a single consumable that I would have to "protect" by exploiting game code (force feeding) all seems silly to me. Add the AA "Endless Cornucopia" imo. Hey, they did it for rangers.

Grats on figuring it all out though.

Although I don't really foresee it happening, I would personally agree. I would pay 10-12 AAs myself (being a Vah Shir...I eat a lot.) I could even see two different AAs (one for food, one for drink)...I'll quietly begin wishing now.

        • Sea dragon steaks are 79k to 100k on marlin now and buyers are offering insane lines for treant hearts, sea dragon meat, and horse meat. Plus word is that peeps are taking advantage of the dropable bug to really twink the newer players.

Too bad stats food can't use required level since it's not worn but if you can slip in recommended level at oh say 30, it would force untwinking of the new players. Recommended level do alter stats even if not worn.

I would like an upgrade to Metabolism. It is the only aa in the general section that has not gotten an upgrade.

              • I don't think we'll see it. Like Endless Quiver is now considered to be a big mistake (by preventing development of better arrows, for fear that they'd be used "forever"), Ngreth's comments have indicated that being able to use force-feeding to avoid using up a high value stat food is what limits the availability of high-powered foods. Expendable items can have significant power, but they don't generally affect long term balance -- perpetual use items can and do.

On the other hand, introducing some sort of 'mount fodder' to offset what the horses etc eat might be plausible... yes, it'd still need a code change, but probably NOT a big one.

EDIT: left out the "NOT" in the last sentence before :P

This is droppable, and has been for a long time... just put a required level 70 on the sandwich like you did with the javelins. Similar stats.

                      • required level won't work on food because food are not equipped.

                        • Grolyn said exactly why there is the difference. If we could limit the food to say level 60... we might leave it trade-able.

Sure it is possible to get this food on a lower level character, but it is a LARGE amount of effort to do so, (unlike the javelin) so it is ok that a lower level character can potentially have it.

                          • This is not my suggestion; I read it somewhere else. However, would it be appropriate to put a recommended level on the sandwich and leave it tradable? I'm not sure if recommended level would affect the stats you'd get from food, since you don't actually equip it.

                            • Well, to level restrict it couldn't the item made be changed to a no stats item with one charge of "Unwrap Monster Sandwich"? Just put a required level to click on it, kind of like potions are right now, and have it summon the no drop sandwich. That leaves the end result tradeable and puts level restrictions on it.

                              • Just make them No Drop. I would rather see people with the skills making them and using them instead of selling them for uber plat. It worked for BPP and it should be the same for this. Being able to get the ingredients and make the platters is somewhat of a badge of honor. An item that is better than BPP should not be trivialized by making it an item that anyone can just buy with enough plat. Granted, people farmed BPP pieces and sold for a ton but at least people had to work on their baking before they would make the attempt.
