I tried to find the answer to this and either I am looking in the wrong spot or something, but has anyone figured out the cost of one picnic? I tried and got to many numbers going, just trying to figure out a bottom line so I am not losing to much on them in the bazaar.

Presuming NO failures on subcombines... stuff with no cost I list I presume is VERY cheap and rolled into the inflated prices for other stuff cause I just don't remember exactly... or it's stuff you have to forage/loot/bazaar so there's no real way to estimate costs. (For me and mine, fruit, veggies, eggs and brownie parts are extremely common. We simply hang out in Rivervale and if one of us sees Nilipuss we whack him like a mole. We've got nearly 4 stacks of brownie parts in the bank. Yes, we kill him a lot. And each part can make 100 picnic attempts.)
20 mandrake root .... 40 plat?
10 sm brick of ore ... 10 plat
10 rennet ... 5 plat?
21 milk ...
19 frosting ...
10 eucalyptus ... 10 plat?
9 loaf of bread ...
2 fruit ...
10 barley ...
10 hops ...
10 spices ...
20 water ...
21 jumjum stalk ...
10 bottle ...
10 veggies ...
10 lettuce ...
10 fennel ... 5 plat?
1 brownie part ...
1 egg ...
So 70 plat or so for 100 attempts, more for failures on subcombines. So I've always had the figure "one plat per attempt.. super cheap" in my head.
At minimum success of 5% that means you get 20 picnics for 100 plat, at least. Supposedly. In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.
I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.

They are certainly less than a plat each to make. I did 200-300 or so with them and sold all my success for 1 plat each and walked away richer than I started. Which doesnt even count all of what I gave away.

Success .... rates... VARY.
I'd really .... really... hate to have to develop a spreadsheet to account for every copper for the storebought components, the subcombine failure rates, and the success rates at each skill level.
Suffice it to say that if you take 100 plat out of the bank, go buy your components, do the sub/final combines for 100 attempts at picnics...
100 pp will make 20 picnics pretty much without fail no matter what your skill and CHA/Int/Wis.
When I decided to see just how awful the success rate would be if I tried picnics at 192 skill... I -still- could have sold them for decent profit at 4pp.
(The skill up rate, on the gripping hand, was .... unimpressive. But I'd still rather do picnics than meat pies.)In My (Not Always) Humble Opinion, except where I quote someone. If I don't know I say so.

I did a spreadsheet a while back to figure the cost of one MTP with:- Baking at 300
- Cost per fruit 5 gold
- Cost per brownie 50 plat
- Geerlok equipped for MTP combines
- Deep trivial rule applied on all subcombines
Cost per picnic: 4g 5s 5c
Cost per picnic if brownie parts are looted or bought off vendors: 3g 2s

the only real "swing" factor here is the price you pay for the fruit and the brownie parts. Everything else is storebought. (yes, vegetables can now be made by store-bought components. do a search on this site instead of asking me how)
Way back when I started using MTP's to reach 250, I did an estimate that they were 1pp per combine attempt, which means as low as 2.5gp per picnic once your skill is high enough.
Even then, that was a rough off-the-cuff estimate, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're cheaper than that.
Either way, they're cheap as all get out to make.

There is one more "swing" factor and I forgot to mention it in my list.
I assumed that tailoring was at least up to having tailored quivers trivial. The picnic basket combine is almost as expensive as the chocolate/cake combine containing a 50p brownie part.
