cultrual baking

I think the idea of cultrual baking would be a great idea. in fantasy just as in real life, each culture would develop its own unique foods based on their tastes and the ingredients readily available to them. i think this would add a whole new depth to eq to eq. (espeically for those that like to role play, or people liek me who write fanfiction) i know that as a dark elf, i would rather eat a soem home made dark elf specialty rather than iron rations.

im not picturing anything fancy here where you have to spend hours camping things to get the right drops. after all how many commoners are gonna be camping shadow men for anessnece of shadow? i was thinking more along the lines of simple foods that would be the staple food made by that race. in fact for one of my stories i created a cultrual food by slightly modifiing an existing recipe. i took edible goo and added a glowing fungus found in neriak and created edible goo, a treat that dark elf children just love.

however while what im thinking of is simple enough that the ingrediants could all be gathered in the home town and in the newbie zones or the zones just outside them (ie neriak, nek forest, lava storm, and east commons) there might be more complicated things that a race has come up with that might be more worthwhile to those who like food with stats, after all there are great chefs in all cultures.

this was just a little idea i cooked up while writting the previous chapter of my story. what do you guys think?

Aye, if you check the vendors of most cities, they usually have a cultural theme to them... for example, there's all sorts of Elvish wines in Kelethin (how they don't all drunkedly fall off all the time is beyond me), and you'll notice some strange food items located in Cabilis... as Earthworm munchies might not seem so delicious.. unless you're an Iksar.

I consider myself a veritable connosieur (sp?) compared to what my guild and many others know about... I usually make everything from Grilled Cheese Sandwiches to Beer-Battered Hynid Steaks. And of course, wedding and birthday cakes.

Cultural baking would be a nice touch... but honestly, I'd hope that it wasn't as difficult as making ice cream.

Troll cultural was supposed to be cooking, but the idea was scrapped before implemention of more than a grobb oven. now after the move all traces are gone.
