Is Ice Cream all there is ?

I've been wandering, looking for other recipes in OOW, but so far no luck.... Ice Cream, while I applaud the "cute" factor of it is really just a novelty... it won't do for stat food, it's a snack and it's **** near impossible to make, considering drops for the churn and the fickle ice of velious.

So... am I wrong in hoping there's something else out there to have fun with Baking ?

I guess the same can be said for the other tradeskills that I've seen as well... Jewelry... nice if you get the augments and drops for rogue/shammie improvements... brewing... haven't seen anything of interest there either.

Not a rant or a whine, just wondering if I've missed something somewhere

So far the only reports on baking in OoW are what you see. Mostly Ice Cream... a few Fishy Dishes...

You can't honestly expect to see 5000+ recipes added for each tradeskill on each and every release... can you? And as for even the items to be useful... How many different colors of armor do you need? One for each month of the year/holiday so you can be appropriately attired?

I guess I expected more than ice cream In god there were lots of recipes, but all rather blah compared to what we had in pop. OTOH, they were great for people that maybe were just starting out, easily gotten materials and a boat to practice on= easy bake oven time!

I didn't mention armor dye... rather, I was thinking along the lines of stat drinks, god was pretty good for this, giving us some drinks that had added hp/mana, rather than just stats (for those that had maxed them already).

In a high end expansion, where there are level restricted zones, trials, etc... yah, I guess I expected some high end food and drinks to go with it Doesn't have to be a lot... just some that kind of ... go with the zones I guess.

Ice cream and the tinkered item to make it in are more like an expansion quest, and 5sv is... kind of lame I guess. If the ice cream was easier to acheive, it might be more fun, in the "pass it out to others" vein... like we did with cookies and chocolate milk, etc
I just don't see paying obscene amounts of plat for something (the churn) for baked ( ??? ) goods that are lacking a bit and not at all fun to make. (shrug) YMMV

Yah. Theres gotta be some hidden important good recepies out there somewhere with this ice cream.

If not, it was cute, but a *huge* waste of processor time, hard drive space and bandwidth.

Searching for 'ice cream' here will run Niami/Ngreth out of house and home eventually with bandwidth bills.

Gates of Discord I think spoiled the bakers. We got a gazillion recipies to raise our skill while other skills got next to nothing.

What goes around comes around I guess.

Also, This expansion seemed to be made to add zones & raise the level bar a little bit more than it was to make Tradeskillers happy.

I strenuously object to being required to level in order to do tradeskills, I am choosing to stay at 65 for now and it tics me off to no end that I need to be 69 to even enter the zone to get a part for the Ice Cream Churn, needing level 70 for Salvage3 sucks too imho =(

Supplies... like Golanda Nuts

I was looking through the lists of items to make ice cream in case I had anything anyone needed... but I got stuck on golanda nuts... they are foraged... AND no drop.. which makes it rather difficult for those of us that don't forage if we Did want to bake ice cream....

Has a fix for this been mentioned anywhere, or is ice cream to be relegated to only foraging classes?

edit : I see a couple of recipes without the no drop, foraged recipes, my bad. But I'm still interested in knowing if there's a change planned to the no drop/foraged only type of ingredients for recipes.

Well, golanda nuts are also used for the ranger epic 1.5 so I suppose that's why they are no drop, but really... rangers are one of the few foragers so what's the big deal?
