Help. GoD non combine

I am currently trying to get over the 200 hump, and had some Saltwater Crab from my fishing expoits banked. Decided to do Beer Battered Crab Rolls, but for some reason (broken?) I cannot combine the 1 lb Saltwater Crab with the Beer Based Batter in my mixing bowl. Is it just me and my Dead brain, or is this not working?

You have to combine 1 lb saltwater crab in a mixing bowl (just the crab, nothing else). This produces crab meat. I had the same problem
