Seems to me the types that have pets ought to be able to give a treat to those hard working pets. Something that can be baked like the hardy meals that give a boost to one or more of the pets stats, like Tiger's milkbones or Woofy's mammothmeat crumble with the same stat bonuses based upon content and skill level. Any ideas?

Hmmm... give your pet and treat, and he likes you better?... maybe something enchanters would like to have a bag of "doggie treats" to toss to their charmed pets to reduce the agro when the charm breaks... limited of course to one treat being in effect for X-minutes... giving more won't have any other special benefit.
As for increased stats... do pets actualy have stats like player characters? or do they simply have a level/aka power setting based upon the spell used to summon/call/create them?

I think pets must have stats because I believe there are buffs for them that raise certain stats. (Keep in mind the only pet classes I have played were a 5 mage, 5 necro and a 15 beastloard
). I do know that beasties hate when mages give their pets swords because the pets have no 1hs skill, they are skilled in H2H.
Cool idea though

I use emotes to play around on this. It's alot of fun for you and can be for your group mates if they have a sense of humor.
Type:
/em gives Goner a Scooby Snack . . Mmm, delicious!
/em rubs Goner's head.
/say Good job 'ol girl. I knew you had it in ya!
You can have lots more fun with Necro pets, having them ask you for treats and such. I always ask Rangers and Druids to drop there parishable items into my dogs mouth rather into the ground. Most of them think it's a hassle, but it's not. I think hitting the forage button is a hassle, and for that I have this:
-Go to options
--Go to the Keyboard tab
-Select Macros from the drop down box
--Open your actions box with the second tab, the tab right next to the one showing the Sit and Find commands
-Make number 1 your key for Forage
--Make a hot key with these commands:
/doability 1
/pause 20
/autoinventory
-Scroll down your list and find the number of the slot your new hotkey is in, my is in number 5 . . . select number 5 and it will say press a key . . .press the left arrow key. Close the macro box, and now everytime you turn left you will automatically forage and auto drop it into your inventory.
