Stupid question on GOD baking

Must you do the quests before you can make any GOD baking?

nope, I used GoD baking to get to 250 and never did a single quest

The quests are simply for refinement of some GoD ingredients into something that can be used - currently there are no known recipes which use the ingredient you refine with the baking quest anyway, so the baking quest has no application in baking at all except for free low level skill ups.
