  • Non Foragers.....

    Hello all,
Ive been looking into tradeskills lately and I managed to get Baking to 200 YAY!. SO I look up the recipes and Find that most items require something that is Foraged , but unfrotunately Im a wizard and cant forage.

What options would you pursue if you were in my shoes . I have no problem farming . I prefer farming rather than buying stuff, If anyone could recommend a path to 250 without forages I would deeply appreciate it. Im working on the trivial list too to see what I can come up with

    Thanks

Holy cake is the only thing I could think of off the top of my head.

depending on your server's economy for foraged goods, you may end up spending less money buying foraged vegetables in the Bazaar as opposed to the relatively high cost of Holy Cake (for example).

I know this is going to sound kind of silly but Ive seen veggies occasinally going for 5pp a piece and usally 10 p

Would this be low , mid or highly priced?

like I said, it depends on the server. Personally, I never paid more than 1pp each for a veggie (and now I just use my forager). Considering one of the ingredients for Holy Cake is a 5pp~ alchemy component, if you can find veggies for less, it would be a better value.

Hehe Very nice. I never considered the alternative of starting a forager! Im sure I could level one to lv 25 pretty soon enough

              Thanks for the help.

Park a wood elf in the middle of a peaceful place and you could forage at level 1

The bazaar is an excellent place to forage.

Have you considered GoD baking? You can fish the tuna and crab, the hynid & cragbeast meats can be foraged but also drops off mobs. Plus players sell all 4 of the meats to merchants all the time.

PoP alternatives, farm while you exp:

-Jord meat & Vann toes can be obtained in BoT
-Blood Raven parts & Mephit Meat from PoN
                      -Boar meat from Tactics

Depending on your level and how much farming you want to do, you could also work on griffon/anaconda melts & cassaroles. Those are really cheap, but you do have to hunt the meat. Normally, it doesn't get sold to vendors.

Anaconda Melt: anaconda meat, cheese, loaf of bread, non-stick frying pan

Cheesy Anaconda Casserole: anaconda meat, casserole dish, cheese, noodles

And it's the same way with Griffon meat...

You do have to make the noodles for the casseroles, but they have some fairly decent stats on 'em. Once I get back into baking, I'm going to be spending alot of time in JP.

The GoD recipes at higher trivial require vegetables as well. I would use that route myself as I'm fairly skilled in fishing, but Misty Thicket Picnics don't burn through the forage only components as quickly.

Wow thanks. I used Gates baking to get myself to 200 Using Beer Braised stuff .

As for the forager portion. Im at work so IM just confirming. Do I need a higher level of foraging to forage certain items at a loaction and is there a skill cap. That is Race X comes with a skill level of 100 forage . Can a lvl 1 character forage vegetables and other goodies that I need

Well since veggies are a common forage... yes. You'll probably also get plenty of roots and rabbit meat as a lvl 1 as well, with the occasional rare forages. Ex. I started my own forager, woodie ranger in Kelethin. First forage I had was the ripened heartfruit....
