I did baking 0 - 200 in GoD with tuna / Crab recipies (and a bit of fishing)
I found this very cheap (and your brewing skill would help)
Unfortunatly I'm still stuck at 200 till I go get some AAs so I can't really comment from there.
I guess it depends on your supplies of Vegitables and Eggs.
Generally MTPBs are considered the "best" way to 250.

Baking 200+
I found GoD baking an excellent way to progress 200+. Sit in almost any GoD zone and forage. If you cant forage, ask guild and group mates to save up forage stuff for you. Any supply of Cragbeast and Hynid meat is a good deal. My guild gives me stacks every raid in GoD.
I did Cragbeast and Hynid Beer Braised Steaks to 222.
Cragbeast and Hynid Beer Braised Pies to 232.
Plan to do Cragbeast and Hynid BBQ Souffle to 242.
Ending with Cragbeast and Hynid Beer Battered Souffle at 252.
I have to warn you tho, while this is cheap if you can forage your own meat or have others donate to your baking cause, there are lot of combines to follow this route. Each X lbs of whatever meat has to be combined down to 1 lb sizes. Each 1 lb has to be combined to <whatever> meat type. Then for each you will need brewing to make batter and sauce. Then the actual skill up combines in an oven. It takes time.
On an average raid night for my guild, I go to Abysmal Sea with 3-400 lbs of meat. That's about 70 base combines to convert to 1lb units, 3-400 combines to make meats, 3-400 combines to make sauces or batter, and 3-400 combines to bake. It takes a while... but, for under 200 pp I've bumped baking from 200 to 233 in only a couple of days. I have about 600 lbs of meat banked and plan to bake all that up this weekend, hopefully reaching 252. The only obstacles I have atm is my supply of vegetables for the pies.
And as a bonus, the Steaks you bake from 200-222 actually sell in the Bazaar for 3-4 pp each.

I haven't ever touched GoD baking, though I hear it's fairly easy over the combines on Halas Pies or Misty Picnics. I did a bit of whatever I could find from 191 on. I know I had a few hundred cockroaches that I blew to 202, from there I'm pretty sure I did a few runs on Halas Pies to exhaust the 10 or so mammoth meats I had. Most of my skillups though came from Misty Picnics. MTP are easy, since there are only about 4 parts that aren't vendor sold, and cost barely nothing in the bazaar. I usually loaded up for 200 (max I could hold IIRC) or so combines and proceeded to shake and bake till I would run out of room to hold the picnics, then I would sell them for around 10p each to cover my expenses. Since I can easily sell around 10 stacks a night, the cash income wasn't huge, but it made up for what I spent skilling. I eventually stopped grinding at 249 skill, and rarely make them now, since the price in the bazaar is pretty poor atm, as low as 5p each from some mass bakers.

MTP's are the way to go IMHO.
The skill-up rate isn't great, but selling them back covers your costs.
I got baking to 218 last night, over the past few days i did about 1000 combines of MTP's and got 20 skillups.
Only lost like 50pp so far (since i have sold some mtps) and still have a few hundred of them to sell

GoD makes baking very very easy. All you need is foraged vegetables (sell in the bazaar for 1-5pp normally), do some fishing in Natimbi for the fish, and make some beer batter (all vendor bought). Piece of cake - take you all the way to 250.
Baking is about the easiest skill to master anyway so there are several good paths to take.

GoD Baking is definitely the way to go up to 222.
Above that you start needing Vegetables, and at 1 per combine, a lot of them. Misty Thicket Picnics require 1 Vegetable per 10 combines, so you need much less of them per skillup run. Unless you are specifically making the High faction God food for the GoD faction quest, I would stick with MTPs 222-250.
