  • There IS a spoon!

I made my GM baker's spoon yesterday! Thanks to EQ Traders and all the bakers who posted their tips, you have all made it much easier. This is my first post here, but I've been reading for a while, and thought I'd give my path, like the ones I've read.

I am a 59 wood elf druid on Seventh Hammer. I started baking for the shawl quest, and had fun with baking, so decided to stick with it. I did the batwing crunchies, fish fillets and fish rolls. Since I'm a forager, I went to veggie/fruit pies until 143. Then over to JP for patty melts until 191. I think I tried a few HMP's before 200 but didn't have much success, so I skilled up mostly on Ohabah truffles until 202. Then I switched over to HMP's until close to 226, when I thought I'd give MTP's a shot, and was tired of hunting mammoths. In the middle of the MTP's, I did a stack of justice fruit pies, and got one skillup out of those. I also made a few lotus pies, with no skillup, but used the pie for the PoTC quest. Once I skilled up to 240, I equipped the geerlok, and got the spoon on the first try! I made the seal myself, it is nervewracking to do such expensive combines, even with a low trivial! (Can you tell I haven't done much jewelry?)

There are a few tips (some I borrowed from here) that are worth mentioning. The basilisks in JP are a great source for eggs, especially in the HMP stage when you need a ton of dough. I am not a brewer, so I thought it would be tough to get the jumjum spiced beer for the MTP's. A GM brewer friend made me my first batch, but I found that the vendors in Rivervale usually have some, probably from brewing skillups. The vendors near the brew barrel, or near the druid guildmaster were the spots I found it. I like Shadowhaven for the HMP stage, because everything but the drops is right there. On my server, I also find that the HMP's sell faster than the picnics, which helps fund more baking. The new UI came while I was making the HMP's, which helped a lot with the subcombines on that recipe.

So again, thanks all for the great info on this site!
