  • Best Place for Newbie Baking

The place I really like for my newbie baking skillups is the eastern trading building, south of the bank in POK. Not only do you have five baking merchants at your fingertips of any merchant sold ingredient that you need, i have also had great luck there. When I combine there, I've never failed to go up less than two skill points, even if I only had two things to combine. Don't know if that luck will hold in the higher skill levels (im currently somewhere in the 30's) but at this rate say hello to 100!

Well, I'm not sure what you are making, but I'd suggest wandering over to the building with the fishing pond. You can buy both the bat wings from the DE vendor and the fresh fish from one of the other guys to get your skill up to 135, for minimal plat (look up the fish rolls recipe on the main site). Not as much fun experimenting with different recipes, but cheap and fast.

I would agree, 1 batwing + 1 fresh fish = 1 fish roll (135). Bonus is that it is wt .1 and banquet sized meal so it makes wonderful filler food.

After that, though, you're gonna have to make a decision. If you don't mind farming, 1 noodles (egg plus water) + 1 jug of sauces + 1 spices = 1 Pynmyer Pasta (misspelled). Trivs at 191. If you DO mind farming, first off never try tailoring, then go to Jaggedpine forest. Pick up a 10 slot container full of Cheese. Pick up a nonstick frying pan somewhere, bazaar usually good place although you can make one if you are a decent smith. Go to Thurgadin and head to Moradin's Meats and make patty melts. 1 cheese + 1 nonstick frying pan (returned on success OR failure) + 1 loaf of bread + 1 bear/lion meat. Also trivs at 191

        Skill Ups

Best way to farm is too combine that with good exp. At your level there a number of places you can go to get good exp and valuable trade skill items. Makes farming very easy. The pain with farming is that one does not get anything but the farmed item (no exp).

Or better yet, don't travel all over timbuktoo.. go to Abysmal where everything is.. AND you can do all the tradeskill quests there to get your skills to 54 for free.

Yes - Abysmal is THE place for tradeskills. Even has a handy bank for a quick ATM withdrawal.

I can certainly respect the farming - I am pretty cheap myself and hate to buy something I can go get myself.

I do really suggest you combine farming with exp. At your level you can have fun getting exp AND get tradeskill items. It's the best way to play the game IMO. I would look at some of the forums to determine the best place to go given your level and what you want to get.

                Good luck.
