  • Denmom Baking Guide for you

    Greetings,
I originally wrote this for my guildies a year and a half ago. Since most of them that were going to do it have done so I am releasing it to the rest of the world. It denotes baking from 0-250 with a very low initial cost and has you making platt in no time. Please look over it and post it to the guide sections if you see fit.

Hey guys sorry about the delay but low and behold Cordov's Baking Guide, this guide will take you from 0-250 with least initial cost and varations (average of 600 platt with high int/wis) to get you to start making profit. First of get yourself as mich int/wis gear as you can and a KEI the higher the int/was the more chances of success, then get the proper player made gear, these include a filleting knife, a dairy spoon, a non stick frying pan, and a pie tin. For best prices also when buying or selling always use your charisma steins. At the bottom of the page is LOC on vendors and what the sell for your baking needs.

    Step 1 (0-143 baking)

    Filets

Go to thurgadin, take the Great Divide book, put wall to right and follow it, jump under the waterfall through the hidden wall, go all the way back and take a right, a little bit on the left side you will see Mordin's Meats, in there the vendor sells unlimited supplies of bear and lion meats, buy about 10 stacks of each, and go to oven, put in the oven 1 bear or lion meat, 1 filleting knife, and hit combine. You will fail alot at first however the higher your skill goes the more you will succeed. Other people may recommend other things to get your skill up but this is cheap and it is used for later baking so hang onto those fillets. (yeild 1 fillet)

    Step 2 (142-192)

    Patty Melts

Go to Jagged Pine, take Qeynos Book, head up path from city north, head due north, if you are Evil alinged you will need invis, after you zone head due north to a cave entrance that kind of looks like it has horns, follow cave and you will be in surefall glades, behind the big tree is a secret wall you can walk through, at the top of this area you will find a crystal, click on that and you are in Jagged Pine. A vendor there sells unlimited quantities of cheese and loafs of bread get about 10 stacks of each, then go to thurg and get about 10 stacks of lion meat. Take one meat (do not fillet it) 1 loaf of break, 1 cheese, and 1 non stick frying pan. Put it in the oven and combine for patty melts until 192, to recoop some of the cash re-sell the made patty melts to vendors as they are uneeded. (yeild 1 Patty Melt)

    Step 3 (192-226)

    Halas Pies

You will make alot of these because at 196-210 there is a baking "Hell Level" in which skill ups are not as prominant.
Get yourself 1 stack of each of these loot only items, Wolf Meat and Mammoth Meat. Mammoth meat can be gotten in everfrost (outside of halas zone)by shouting to buy them for 2 platt per, most people are very happy to do so. Wolf meat can be gotten at most vendors around newb areas that have wolves nearby, also shout 2 platt for them and newbs are glad to get the extra cash.

    Cream

go to alchemy vendors in pok and buy 1 stack of benzolion, 42 platt a stack, take 1 benzolion and 2 milks and 1 diary spoon in mixing bowl (vendor bought) and combine for 8 cream, repeat as nessicary,

    Creamy Fennel Sauce

from alchemy vendors buy fennel 2 stacks at a time, 42 platt a stack, take 1 fennel, 1 cream, 1 flour and combine in mixing bowl for 6 creamy fennel sauces. Now fillet up those wolf and mammoth meats however be carefull because 1 meat yields 10 fillets,

    Fillets in Creamy Fennel Sauce

take 1 of your filleted meats (you want equal ammounts of each fillet) and 1 fennel sauce and put in oven and combine, Almost there, now for the last made component,

    Dough

different eggs yeild different ammounts of dough, basilisk eggs create a 15 doughs per the most you can, these can be found on knoll merchants in Jagged Pine because players sell them to the merchants becuase they drop in abundance or you can hunt the basilisks if you are 40 and above easily and loot them, take 1 egg, 1 milk, and 1 flour in your mixing bowl and combine for 15 dough, now count your stacks and go to alchemy vendor and buy Sage Leaves (84 platt a stack), Woot time for the Final Combine,

    Final Combine

Take 1 of each filleted meats in fennel sauce (lion, bear, wolf, mammoth), 2 dough's, 1 sage leaf, and your trusty pie tin and put in the oven and click combine. you may fail a bit at first but every successfull combine makes 6 thats right 6 halas 10lb meat pies. Beware though they are Giant sized so you will want Deluxe Toolboxes to carry them, and they are HEAVY 2 toolboxes worth will cease movement lol ask how I know. You will want to hang onto a sow potion when baking or have someone sow you once you can't move and need to deposit pies in bank, I recommend POK for baking for these reasons becuase bank is nearby. For those without a trader I sell the pies on my trader for a steady 3.9 platt and will gladly pay 3 platt a pie and move them for you, initial cost is about 2.5 with failures which in the beggining are frequest but after about 200-205 you will make most of them and that makes cost about 1.5 platt with buying the looted meats for 2 platt per, normal yeild for 10 stacks of combines is about 1100 pies when clost to or at trivial. (yeild 6 pies)

    Final Step (226-250)

    Misty Thicket Picnics

These are a cross tradeskill item, you will need tailoring of about 60 or so, blacksmithing of 40 is fine, and brewing of 122 will do you ok for the brewing part, (to get to 122 brewing buy fishing grubs and water and combine in brew barrel), Misty Thicket Picnics or MTP's are a very high trivial, at 250 you will still fail half however they are cheap and rather easy to make with 9 different items to make them, for looted items you will need brownie parts offering 10 platt per will get you a good yeild, I have about 8 stacks of them I paid 10 platt for and can resell you guys some if need be at cost. Also you will need forraged fruit 1 stack lasts a while, and forraged veggies get about 4-6 stacks of that. The 7 items needed to make these are, Picnic Basket, Jum Jum Salad, Marmalade Sandwich, Jum Jum Spiced Beer, Cake Slices (takes 2), Royal Mints, Matured Cheese, this may seem like alot but if you can clear out 8 boxes if inv and do 10 stacks of combines at a time the yield is very nice about 400 of them and they are really cheap to make.

    Picnic Baskets

Probally one of the harder parts besides the jumjum spiced beer, you need to get a File, a sewing kit, a SOW (very important ore is heavy), 1-2 stacks of water, blocks of ore, and mandrake root.

Steel Bonings (smithing skill trivial 37)

take 1 small brick of ore and file with flask of water and combine in forge, you will get steel bonnings make about 24 if your tailoring is good or more if tailoring is bad.

Woven Mandrake (tailoring skill trivial 66)

take 2 mandrake roots (bought at alchemy vendor) and combine in tailoring kit to get woven mandrake,

Picnic Baskets (tailoring skill trivial 76)

take 1 woven mandrake and 1 steel boning and combine in tailoring kit. (yield 10).

    Jum Jum Salad

go to the lost turnip in Shadow Haven buy several stacks because they are used in the brewing portion also which trivials at 168, you will skill up on them cheaply but will fail a bit at first. Take 1 Jum Jum root, 1 lettuce, 1 fennel, and one forraged vegi and combine in mixing bowl, (yeild 10)

    Marmalade Sandwich

Take one forraged fruit, and 2 frostings and combine in oven makes marmalade (yeild 12), then take one marmalade and one load of bread and combine in mixing bowl to get marmalade sandwiche's, (yeild 12)

    Jum Jum Spiced Beer

you will fail a bit at first on these but it gets easier with time. Take 1 barley, 1 hops, 1 spices, 1 jumjum stalk, 1 water, and 1 bottle, put in brew barrel and hit combine. (yeild 10)

    Cakes (for cake slices)

First we need to make the Cakes, to make the cakes we need to make winter cholcate, take 1 brownie part and 2 frostings and combine in a mixing bowl, make 3-4 of these, then we take 1 winter cholcate, 1 cake round, 1 dough, 1 jum jum stalk, and 1 frosting, (yeild 20 Cakes),

    Cake Slices

take 1 cake and place in oven and hit combine (yeild 10 slices)

    Royal Mints

Take 1 Eucaliptus Leaf (84 platt a stack), and 1 frosting, combine in mixing bowl, (yeild 10)

    Matured Cheese

Take 1 rennet and 2 milk and dairy spoon, combine in mixing bowl, (yeild 10)

    Final Combine

Take 1 Mature Cheese, 1 Royal Mints, 2 Cake Slices, 1 Jum Jum Spiced Beer, 1 Marmalade Sandwich, 1 Jum Jum Salad, and 1 Picnic Basket and put in oven and hit combine, be impressed if you succeed on first attempt because at 250 I fail 1/2 the time they are a very high trivial and will take you up to 250 in baking. (yeild 4)

Now what, well now you can make your grandmaster baking spoon now that you have accumulated a small fortune, bake whatever there is in the game, www.eqtraders.com has a great list of things to bake, and have some fun with it and feel the pride of having successfully made it to GM at a tradeskill. For greater cash use the cash made from baking and do another more expensive tradeskill Good luck and happy baking.
