They have started to drop GRIFFAWN feathers, but not griffon feathers. Don't believe they had a tradeskill tag (at work now) and sold to a vendor for a plat and change.

One of the things that I've found useful is to take a lowbie toon, pre-10th level, and take her foraging in some of the higher level zones. I've foraged up a number of useful things in those zones, but the true benefit has been the experience of exploring zones I've never been to before. I don't have a snowball's chance of surviving mob attacks in some of these zones, but the explorationg has stood me in great stead for other toons I've taken there. And every so often you come up with that nice little forage that fattens the bank account.
