  • Made it to 200....finally!

Not sure if I'm going to 250 Baking or Brewing just yet, so I thought I'd go ahead and post this (I won't be a member of the 1750 club - I may 250 both trades eventually, but those are the only 2).

I'd been stuck at 199 doing HMPs for profit and Ohabah Truffles for skill-ups (plus a few Griffon Melt combines and a couple of Jord Meat combines along the way) for a couple of months.

Mainly stuck because I haven't been doing Baking as much as I used to. Especially since LDON came out.

Yesterday morning I sent my trader alt into the Bazaar to look for one of my 49 pet spells (the Air pet - Once I research Water, I'll have all 4) and Baking supplies. Grabbed 15 Mushrooms off one vendor. (Anaconda and Griffon Meat were going for 50pp a piece, Mushrooms 5pp each, so I went with Mushrooms)

Did 15 Ohabah Truffle combines while sitting in the Felwithe bank this afternoon, and hit 200 on the 14th combine.

(Incidentally, I was doing this while waiting for a c3 to wear off - Didn't have much time to do anything else, because it only had about 12 minutes of time left)

Congratulations on hitting 200. I was so happy to do that with my druid when he was going to be my main trade skill character. Now that my shaman is doing all the trade skills I need to hit 200 again. *grins*

As for taking brewing or baking to 250 first, I would suggest brewing if your goal is to hit 250 quickly and make a trophy. I have two characters with 250 brewing and they both have their trophies. After getting the trophy on my caster I just had to have one for my beastlord. However, if you would prefer taking it slow and enjoying the road to 250 then baking may be the way to go. There are a lot more interesting things you can make with high baking skill than with high brewing skill. It just takes longer to get there.

      Thanks.

I'm not trying to hit 250 fast and make a trophy. Can't afford the components. I'm a fairly poor Mage and am saving up to get a mount right now. After that, I plan on getting Golden Efreeti Boots and better gloves (not sure which ones, though), THEN going for a trophy.

If you are a broke toon, go with Brewing, Minotor Hero Brews (sp) are cheap, more so if you get a chanter to cast CHA buffs on you!

Brewing at 222 and on hold... dang you LDoN!!!

250 in brewing with a trophy! All other trade skills? /sigh don't ask.
        Magelo to see my junk.

            make some brewing

raise brewing to 248 with mino.. that s dirty cheap, and try to find a corking device, ok, they sell for more than 1k, but after this you just have to make lots of kaladim constitutional and to sell em back to pc, each kc cost around 6p average(with my sucess rate and my cha) for my bard, and i can sell em between 10 to 20p each... use a msg like this:
            /auction WTS KC 5sta 5vs all, last for hours, 20p each, 150p for 10 and 250p for a stack

doing this, i managed to get my last 2 skill point, enough money to pay back the corking device, some more money for my trophy, and 1 last kpp... stoped doing this cause i used the device in my trophy... i should continue making these sometimes...
